This was done with the new Leonardo AI service! From text a very neat and at the same time disturbing picture of the "Second Poe" himself!

I was inspired by remembering something said about HPL's works - in one of his stories he had the protagonist glance at a painting and the more he glanced at it he became sure that somehow it was NOT painted by human hands...! I think it was the Mi-Go from stories such as "The Whisperer in the Darkness"... Besides taking people's brains and putting them in jars for a type of cybernetic immortality they learned from people and along the way a few of them picked up the Oil Paints and had fun learning human art. Imagine a giant fungus creature that fills a room picking up a paintbrush with its tentacles and looking through multiple eyes but through instruction and practice and a genius intellect making a painting by learning and applying...

This was bashed by critics of HPL as pure impossible. That - IF - there were other creatures not human but with capabilities akin to ours and they painted they'd probably with practice and talent be able to paint just like us. Since then this type of fake intellectual has been bashed by a Chimpanzee named "Congo" when a zookeper passed his art off as a human painter and won awards for talent, then an Elephant learned to paint and could indeed paint real things vs spattering the paint around. The ultimate irony is AiArt becoming so advanced...! We'll soon have work far better and silly things like "Fingers" fixed.

But for now an ultimate horror facing "Artists" especially those calling themselves "Pros" is seeing this inhuman art - beautiful, professional, creative - but inhuman even if guided by human hands!!!

I did some slight modifications and added a security layer due to dubious copyright of AI alone as I type this.
IMO all of HPL should be public domain by now and most is - anyone can favorite this image or include it in their collections - and if they want to PRINT it just ask me!

PS - I wonder what HPL would have thought... He HATED most "Weird Tales" covers since he was antisexual and REH's "Conan" with damsels in distress fought with Quinn's hooded cult victim ladies via Brundage. He was WAY too broke to hire his own artist - so IMO if he had a computer/internet like today he'd use his incredible descriptions to make awesome monstrosities with AIart - to argue this he was a fanatical letter writer making at least 100K letters - imagine if he had email which even poor people have today?
