For a friend who moved to Japan a while ago and comes back to visit once in a while . I started this yesterday and rushed to finish it this morning so I could give it to her . She loves cupcakes, and we made the most glorious cupcakes at her house (oh, rainbow cupcakes and ganache, how my mouth waters thinking of thee).

I wanted the title to be "Cupcakes = <3" but it wouldn't let meeeee... /sniff

This is my second picture using my new Copic markers (which are worth every cent I paid for them, I swear ). My first isn't up yet because I haven't finished its background. I'm getting the hang of using them (and also the hang of marker stains on my hands ). I need to work on controlling how they spread once they touch the paper though - I keep coloring outside my lines, grrrrr. This is also the first time I've used my recently-acquired Photoshop to adjust a picture's color (and it almost makes up for my crappy scanner /throws confetti with glee).

So, this picture is also the first of a little project I'm starting: drawing a picture for every one of my close friends before we go to college . I'm a little worried about not being able to finish this project (with college apps and the school year looming darkly ahead, although I have next summer, I suppose), and I'm also worried whether some of my non-anime-watching friends will appreciate the gesture (it's the thought that counts though, right?), but nevertheless, I have decided to try. Valiantly. Go down fighting and all, yo?
