My very first fusing experiment was making a sword for Sorey that had every status ailment on it. Was cool, but I never found much use for it, so I ended up discarding it. The only bosses I can think of that it would be useful to afflict with an ailment are the Cerberus/Duoblock bosses and maybe the Uroboros. Still I was easily able to overpower their healing once I knew they were doing it. I wish they made more use of that mechanic with enemies. As it is, it's just a colossal nuisance in some boss fights. (Funny, when I saw Cerberus for the first time it was right after I'd started DMC3 for the first time. I'd just recently killed Cerberus in that game too, so I was like 'you again? XD Did one of your heads not grow back after I kicked your ass the last time?' )
They really change it in every single game don't they? Even if they hit on something good, they keep trying for more. It's very ambitious. I think the Lilium orbs were awesome, like a Tales version of the Sphere grid almost. But I think Zestiria's system is even better as it allows the player to make significant changes later on in the game if they want. Allium orbs were all right, but like in Tales of Graces, I felt like I had to manage them too often. Seemed like every other battle I was changing half my characters around. XD
Funny thing, until today, no I hadn't. 0__o (That is unless I don't recognize the name. Is there a Queen Ellis in another game?) But just today I applied the blessing to Alisha's finished equipment and her Elder Garden became a Victoria Garb. (How fitting). Unfortunately, when I blessed a Doctor Mathis the item it became wasn't a reference to anything. But it seems there may still be many references hidden in blessed item names.

Oh dear! XD Well, wanna know something funny about me? I recently tried out my finished Invalada gear on Rose. It blocks damage up to 5200 and also gives the user Mystiq. XDΒ Armitizing her basically makes her a goddess. Enemies up to Calix 4 can't even damage her and she's got super speed casting. Here's the funny bit: this led to me finding out something. Apparently, using seraphic artes in armatus form DOESN'T use up your blast gauge. XD Seriously. I somehow became convinced that using ANY spell in armatus form took 1 BG, so I NEVER used them... through the entire game... that's as bad as finishing all of Xillia II & the post game and not knowing how to use power combos.... which I also did. I was just chipping away at enemies' hp the whole game. I used most of my items to kill the four heroes in the arena. I did it in one try, but still. XD Probably should have worked out how power combos actually worked BEFORE doing all that crap.
Confusion was so overpowered in that game. -__- It was basically a cheap death for anyone that got it. I think that given the source, you should be able to block to keep your character from acting randomly.
Well, with the lilium orb, you could gather stuff up and then spend it how you wanted when you felt like it. (Of course, the annyiong bit came up whenever you had a character who'd been gone rejoin RIGHT before a fight and then you had to do like 20 nodes worth of leveling before the battle. XD ) With Allium orbs and the titles in Graces, whatever you got went into whatever you has set, so you had to manage it constantly or waste SP. (Yeah, Graces seriously needed a search/filter function so you could quickly find, say, skills with certain stats or artes on them. Searching manually took forever... well, takes forever. I'm just at the last dungeon on Fodra with my second playthrough. I think Zestiria's best though because you can set up multiple configurations for the same character. I think they should let you have arte 'sets' too, where you can set up multiple different arte configurations and switch between them.
Offhand, I'm thinking resting at inns and fighting near the shop locations you're ordering from might help a bit with the item ordering skill. It just seems like it works.

The fact that you managed still just proves how much of a pro you are XD
But I was forced to understand that crap when I couldn't get past a boss :/
OH!
Now I remember! The stuff that prevents item usage.... That is a game breaking ailment :/ not as bad as petrification, but it's up there....
This is for Zestiria now, not Berseria XD
Yeah. Some skits are locked until you trigger them with expensive meals or whatnot. A guy in the stream chat said he spent two hours unlocking all skits and he suggested I look up a guide to make it easy on me.
All the guys were really nice :3 between the six active chatter see figured out the plot quite well XD
I have news on the skill system. They look like they might be like Vesperia. Or maybe Vesperia and Zestiria mixed. It's very confusing though not even the guys playing have figured it out as of now. But give it time.
Also there are a lot more skits and random-npc voice overs. Also when like a mini event occurs all characters are involved which I really like. So far it feels like an actual journey.
Oh that smirk was DIRTY, Ludger XD
Actually Eizen grins and smirks a lot more often than what the trailers would have you believe :3
But right after that smirk he 'kindly' questioned a guard :3 I leave that one up to your imagination XD

I tried remembering which boss it was but I honestly don't remember... Oh! volt! In the fractured dimension!
In Xillia2 I forgot this was a thing most of the time but in Zestiria I use these quick steps all the time!
Really? I had no problem with the command input 0.0 at least this time I didn't forget to use it XD haha
That I don't know.... ;-;
I haven't looked up a guide yet because I watched Berseria in every free minute XD or drew...
DO NOT LOOK IN MY GALERY, SPOILER!
XD haha
As long as you have fun playing then who cares when you get them! :3
I will just not mention anything I see or think to protect your Berseria virginity XD
Ugh....not sure...? About the Npc thing that is XD
Never noticed XD
Well....... This time we see everything from the doomsday smirk to the punch in the face and all in between XD and how velvet doesn't even flinch
Oh... And one thing we suspected (not gonna say what) is l true and a second one is very likely.
So....
We are good...! :3

Oh! That guy gave me a huge headache too, but for a different reason. I wasn't yet familiar with how the resistance thing affected the enemy's ability to move (remember, the last game I played in the series before this was Vesperia) and I didn't like the pistols much yet, so I was using the blades on him. I don't believe he's resistant to them, but he's not weak either and that meant that he just wouldn't flinch at all and I couldn't figure out why. It wasn't until later that I found you HAD to use certain attacks/weapons, not just that it was recommended that you do. So I fought him with the blades trying to win the battle without any KOs (because I hadn't had any yet) and I did, but it really made me mad. XD
I'm sure your experience with the series helps with that a lot. All the games have absolute control stick movement. I'm used to action games where it's always relative, so I'm used to dodging stuff at angles a lot and always relative to the direction my character is on screen.
Oh, I did see that through the group posting. I don't mind seeing it, but I probably won't be able to comment on them until later.
For me, it's about the cohesive narrative. An example might be a skit related to an event you never saw, like 'remember that? Why'd that happen do you think? Well I don't know etc...' Having not seen that event would kind of spoil it. Mostly though, it makes me feel stupid. Like how come I didn't get that when I was playing? Am I so dumb? Getting the skit unlocked for you is like the game saying 'Yes, you are stupid. Here's the skit you were too dumb to find on your own.' -__-'; It's like having to use a cheat code to unlock an item or scene you could get through normal gameplay. The story-related aspect bugs me more because I can ignore an item, but I don't like missing out on part of the story.
That whole thing really ties in with how I feel about enemies too. It's all related to the same issue; continuous narrative integration with the gameplay. You said you don't like it when characters are out of character? I don't like it when the mechanics are out of character. If you're trying to tell me a story and something in the gameplay mechanics interferes with that, that's what bothers me the most, especially when I can't think of any good reason why it has to be that way. I'm familiar with hardcore features which I'd say are any mechanics that enhance the game without necessarily being convenient for the player, like not having instant travel in Morrowind. But these enhance the immersion of the game in return for the price you pay. I can't think of any good reason why not seeing a scene when you're supposed to see it would enhance the narrative at all.
I don't mind hidden stuff, but I'd like a way to find it on my own without having to go online and look it up and have that discovery spoiled. And that's easily done. Just put something in the grade shop that guides you to hidden stuff in the game. You replay the game, you find this stuff on your own with a bonus that you earned yourself and if someone out there just HAS to find things without the thing from the grade shop, then they can do that too. Secrets are supposed to make you feel like 'ooh I found something' not like 'Oh, here's that thing everyone found but me apparently.' (It's like finding a winning ticket to a contest nobody cares about anymore. You can get the prize, but the fun of winning isn't there. That's the best way I can describe it.)
Something about that phrase sounds REALLY bad. XD
You never noticed that that dude from Elympios who sounded like Raven was not only frequent in that game, but appears over and over again in Zestiria? XD He turns into the first hellion you fight as a Shepherd, talks to the guard after the fight with the Uroboros ('what your language when the Shepherd is present! ' XD ) I see him in like every town and in numerous story related roles. It's funny, but I do wish they had a larger crop of NPCs sometimes.
Good!

Ironically though, the guns regenerate Tp the fastest too. I switch to them whenever I want TP without using an item.
The relative control scheme can take a while to get used to, but it's really nice once you do because you can dodge in any direction, making multi-enemy battles more fluid since you can move in a specific direction instantly.
That cuts both ways though. Didn't find it = you suck, you're not worthy. I don't feel that my inability to find these things is due to a lack of ability or interest at all. It seems pretty mean to say "oh, you want to know more about one of our characters because you think they're great? Screw you loser, you missed the thing." -__-; Β There's a difference between challenging someone to hunt down extras and sneaking hidden triggers by them when they're not looking or expecting them to do things that make no sense. I like a challenge, but I like it to be issued to me, to be given something to go on, not to be left with no info at all or worse, to not even know I'm supposed to look in the first place. I really hate it when I can't figure something out and then when I look it up, (and this happens a lot) it ends up being for a really stupid reason. Usually it's because the game expects me to do something that makes no sense (often because it breaks a rule previously established in the game.)
The thing is, triggering an event in a game is JUST like a puzzle. The player has to know the rules and the possibilities for solutions in order to have any reasonable chance to figure it out on their own. I don't think it's fair to fault someone for not doing something they have no way of knowing they're supposed to do. And it seems really unfair to deprive them of valuable story scenes because of it. I mean, as a developer, you know that reviewers will not scour a game six times over before writing a review of it. You don't WANT people to miss something that might improve their opinion of the game. Why hide it and then be all snobby about it? What if they LOVE your game and they know how to play and they try really hard and STILL can't find it? You still want to tell them they're not good enough? Everyone thinks differently and honestly, some people find things or figure things out through sheer luck. I don't mind hidden weapons or gameplay related bonuses or even meaningless scenes that happen in, say, a bonus dungeon, but when it comes to story/character scenes, at least give me some way to start looking on my own. -__-
My project Nexus Core is designed as an RPG that offers a way to deal with the kind of bulls*** RPGs are famous for by letting you actually go back and replay the part where you had to do something instead of having to restart your whole game over again and pray you don't mess it up.
Let's see, in Xillia 2 that guy was used for at least two train station attendants, the guy selling fruit in Alvin's first event, (He's one of the ones with Raven's voice. ) The guy who tries to sell Jude Celsius' core, I think he's the guy in Sharilton that had the fake Efreet fired cup, who appears in both games, and he's also the graphic they used for the guys next to the armor shops in Zestiria, you know, the guys who are all related who make the Mythril stuff? Yeah, a lot of NPCs repeat here and there, but having noticed that guy over and over in Xillia 2 I notice him any time they reuse him. I call him the 'dude from Elympios'. XD
Yay! How do the boss fights look? Any good ones or are they all just puffed up regular enemies? Any new enemies at all? XD (I fear I know the answer to that one already.)
