Nice cityscape, I like the reflections, tones and lights and the subject of course. Though it isn't very original subject, I still like city photography at night very much.

This photo needs some improvement in technical side.
First off, this needs more exposure. Also this seems to be a bit blurry. I'm not sure is this focused properly or has the camera swung slightly. The quality is still pretty good despite the very high ISO value.
Slower shutter speed and lower ISO value could have been able to ensure cleaner look, but I know it is not always possible to use those setting, if you don't have tripod or nothing where to support your camera during the exposure.

The impact of this photo isn't huge, but the photo is still pretty nice. The atmosphere what the reflected lights give is very pleasant.

(I hope I was able to give useful critique, this is my first ever written critique.)

It's a wonderful critique, I'm so grateful, thank you **very** much. All of your points are very valid indeed. I did have a tripod with me but can't remember (after a night of shooting other things) if I did set it up. I know I was in a rush because David was getting bored. But thank you for all of the helpful advice, I will read this again - more than once - and make an appointment to go and act on it in the near future

Dots on the water is all you see. Lighten it up some. A tripod will get you sharp and your lights will look like starbursts.

Where were you born May? - This photo is lovely, I always love seeing the lights from the city glaring over the water

Next time try and keep the city line horizontal, or you can do that when you edit it

Thanks for your email Azza, I will prepare that to go in the mail on Monday when my head is functioning properly again I'm lacking about 20 hours sleep in the past week ROFL

I'm afraid I was born in England, which seems to me the most boring place that anyone could be born in LOL But my heart is Aussie through and through.

You're right about the horizontal bit. The angle was there in real life because of where we were standing, but yes, I think it would be better if I'd adjusted it.

That's okay - My mum was born in England too Just means I can get a dual passport

Haha, whenever you get around to it May - Rest up first and get back into boring life routine
I hope you're holiday was wonderful and relaxing

Ha ha! That's true. David and I only have Aussie ones 'cos we've never been back to the mother land but my cousin and her hubby have dual passports - sure makes it easier for them at both ends. Amazes me that your exit stamps don't have to match your entry stamps though.

Thanks Azza. What flavour protein bar do you want? Chocolate Peanut, Vanilla Almond or Citrus Lemon?

The holiday was really good thanks. I've posted the first part of the story and photos at [link] after writing it today. More of that to come when I can.

Which one do you think tastes the best? - The citrus lemon one sounds nice

I'll have a read of your story now

MayEbony In reply to truthdenied [2012-07-02 15:01:04 +0000 UTC]

Citrus Lemon it is. That is my favourite actually, then the Vanilla Almond.

Oh, I hope you like the story. More to go obviously, but I usually upload them a page at a time as I write them

Sounds tasty - I'm excited to try them. I'm sure I'll be buying a few tubs

The story was very good so far - How many photos did you take on your trip?

I really like it all. Love the vanilla shake most but will often mix vanilla and the chocolate one for my evening meal during winter. I tell ya what - the normal 'dose' is 3 scoops of shake but one day I was going out so I used 4 scoops of shake and 1 scoop of protein powder. Had that at 10am and felt full until 5pm. For me to refuse the food that was being handed out around 2pm is quite something! ROFL

Ummm, almost 800 photos on the big camera and nearly 200 on the little one. You had to ask David probably took about 100 - 150 of the total though. So pleased you're enjoying the story. Page 2 is up there now; I uploaded it around midnight last night.

Woah that sounds pretty intense - I got my package from you last night, after working my stupid 16 hour shift yesterday. But I plan on trying them this morning to see what they're like Thanks again

I was expecting more - When I went hot air ballooning with my dad last year, I took 1600 photos in an hour and fifteen minute flight, haha - I get a bit trigger happy

Sounds good, I'll have to have a read later today when I'm switched on

It's definitely great not to have to bother about food preparation or washing up - so free'ing! My Mum lives alone and has her 2 shakes a day, only having to prepare one meal a day and she loves it. And her increased energy has been noticed even by her village gardener, which amazed us both.

Oh wow, 1600 in an hour is incredible but I sure understand! I took about 1,000 in our week in Bali but there seemed more to photograph there for some reason. I think partly because our taxi driver told me to yell stop any time I wanted to take photos whereas this time we were in hired mini buses or 'short route taxis' so many things went whizzing past my window. It seemed odd that there was no mention of hiring a taxi or tuk tuk for a whole day like there is in Bali.

Page 3 of the story went up last night - all about my favourite trip of the holiday.

I tried them both this morning and they're very tasty - Is that sachet equivalent to 3 scoops?
I'm still quite full after having both of them, but I do eat quite a lot normally. I'm sure the added scoop of protein powder will help though

So do you do direct debit? - I'll probably order some off you tonight / tomorrow Which is your favourite flavour? I might start with two flavours and a protein mix

MayEbony In reply to truthdenied [2012-07-06 10:13:18 +0000 UTC]

Whoops, this note was over the page, sorry about asking if you liked the flavours and I'm very glad to hear that you did. Yes, the sachet is 3 scoops of shake.

My favourite is definitely the vanilla and 2nd choice chocolate. For my evening meal* since it's been cold I've mostly been having 2 scoops of vanilla and 1 of chocolate so it's somewhat chocolatey but not full on. Full chocolate is a bit thicker than the vanilla and I love that when I'm in the mood for some comfort. I often add some cinnamon and nutmeg to my shakes and you can also use a blender and put a banana in there - you have no shortage of those, right? Don't blend for tooo long if you put a banana in as you can make them start to turn a tiny bit bitter.

*We have our main meal at lunch time because of David's shifts.

I can direct debit, credit card (either send me half the number and details by email and half by Note on here, or I can send you an invoice through PayPal and you can credit card (or PayPal if you have it) that. Whatever you choose. If you email/Note the details I store the name and last 4 digits separately to the rest of the numbers, and code them so nobody could ever put the 2 together again. I'll get the products to you direct from Adelaide via StarTrak Express and I'll post you a shaker maker, measuring scoop and some more bits and pieces from here - I can't order those in 1's from Adelaide to include in your main order but that's OK. Would you also like a tape measure? I have some nice long ones and will send you a record sheet so that you can record your measurements to see how you're going. This is exciting, I'm so happy to be helping you attain your goals

StarTrak won't leave the parcel without a signature so you may want to choose home or work for it to arrive at, just let me know. Thanks Azza

If I'm at work, Lisa is usually home anyway - So we shouldn't have a problem there.
I'll use my masterdebit card, so it acts like a credit card but it only uses the money I place on the card, unlike a credit card which uses the banks money
So that's the safest way for me. So I'll e-mail you my "credit card" details.

Are you trying to say I need a nice long tape measure? Just a regular size will do, haha

I'll e-mail you with the items I want - So you can expect an e-mail from me when you wake up

MayEbony In reply to truthdenied [2012-07-07 08:13:47 +0000 UTC]

LOL No, I know full well you don't need a long tape measure but it's the only size Herbalife do. My Mum was thrilled because she was a full stretch on the normal length ones but she fits them now
