Okay but shinigami sounds much better,probably thatΒ΄s the reason why they havenΒ΄t changed it yet... But probably not.Shi no kami is the literal translation and literal translations are never accurate and often even far far away from the commonly used phrases.They might refer the Grim Reaper as the real death god/shinigami and not just say the grammatically correct shi no kami without the actual meaning. Or maybe itΒ΄s just used like that because people got used to it.

But also because there's no translation issues, I can just go along with what they say and be done with it. (That and I think that the actual japanese dubs of some things just come off as flat at times.)

Kinda right,basically the Japanese is really flat,sometimes too primitive and sometimes not even japanese people understand each other completely,thatΒ΄s why there are so many misunderstandings. Unless you speak perfectly Japanese,there will always be some mismatches. But thatΒ΄s not such a big deal,rather just minor differences,mostly not worth of mentioning.
