In truth it's not as ridiculous as it sounds because in a fictional/imaginative sense there's numerous ways to 'dodge' true imminent death even if one was struck an otherwise lethal blow.

Heck it's possible even in real life if circumstances allow for it. Exchanging organs and forcibly sealing wounds by stitching or cauterizing is about the extent of it, however...
