Description EEHHH...! Why does loading the pictures take so long all of a sudden?!

Anyway... Let me introduce a new OC of mine. Got inspired by a lady in one of my mother's catalogues with the same pretty hairstyle and marine-like clothes... So here she is.

She's a Marine Captain, and let me tell you, once you get the hang of it that coat is so much fun to draw! You gotta love those sleeves! 8D She doesn't like pirates, but has a "Capture but don't kill." policy. And she loves apples. Why? Because they're healthy and good for you. Nuff said.

Maybe I'll give her a devil fruit power... we'll see. >w> That's about it for now!

You're not! Heeh, I see what you mean... I just watched the whole show, and it probably is the most epic cookery show I've ever seen. : D And the one with the most "SWOOSH" sound effects.

Hee, I just love that show, it's soooo weird and epic! Gotta love the "SWOOSH!" Cause cooking is more fun with awesome sound effects!

That's true! And they're all so super-serious. Except the face of the chairman when he went "BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEER!", I had to pause and fell almost off the chair because I had to laugh so hard.

Oah, pretty lady. .w. I love her colors, white hair and green eyes go so well together! She looks suntanned too, she gets extra points for that. -w-

Sssay, does Marika know a fellow Captain, Frederick Larsen by any chance? I'm trying to give Daddy Larsen some of the spotlight his daughter gets, he's a little lonely... :<

Thank you! I originally wanted to make her hair red, but it didn't seem right so I changed it to white... but I'm quite happy with that choice myself now.

Marika: Larsen? That name rings a bell... Isn't he the one with the runaway daughter?

Welcome, dear!

Frederick: Nevermind, she chose that path herself. >.> I may be her biological father, but no filthy pirate is a daughter of mine. -_-

(I tried to just call him "Fred", but that doesn't work. Say, does Marika like teasing people a little? 'Cause he wouldn't really like being called "Freddy"... )

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Mayuuko In reply to Weresquirrel94 [2011-04-23 13:36:20 +0000 UTC]

Marika: Well Freddy, maybe her rebellious phase comes to an end one day and she realizes that her decision was one big mistake... *pats him on the shoulder* Would you forgive her if that happened?

(Does that answer your question? : D She likes teasing people she's friendly with, but she knows when to stop... unlike, I dunno, F!Cruz for example. "Fred" sounds like the name of an old men, but I think "Freddy" is kinda cute... amazing how much difference just one single letter can make. )

Frederick: Marika, my name is Frederick. Or Fred. But not Freddy. And no, I would not. She betrayed us, our family, and what we believe in. >.> I love her as a father, but I can't have a pirate in my family.

( Hehe, alright! That might be the reason why he doesn't like it- he's well in his forties, and the only one he let call him Freddy was his wife, before she died, about a month after Dana left, four years ago. Tryin' to give a little insight into his mind.
I can't believe I just recently realized how much fun it is to have middle-aged, male OCs. XD)

Mayuuko In reply to Weresquirrel94 [2011-04-24 13:39:16 +0000 UTC]

Marika: "Fred"? Oh come on Freddy, you really want a name that sounds just as old as you look? >.> I see... Well, nobody can say that you're not a man who sticks to his principles. Which crew did she join anyway? Have I heard of them?

(Aw, Dana's mom is dead?! I think I missed that. Weell... If Freddy told Marika that the nickname reminds him too much of his late wife and that he doesn't like it because of that, she'll probably stop calling him so. She's not one to mess with people's feelings like that. :3)

Weresquirrel94 In reply to Mayuuko [2011-04-24 20:01:54 +0000 UTC]

Frederick: I don't look old, Mari. I'm rugged. *smirk* I don't think you did- it's called "Talos' Troops", lead by the so-called "Golem". I'm sure you've seen him, his poster is on my wall. The one with the darts in it. >.>

(Oh, because I didn't really shout it out. Dana has only mentioned once, in her meme, and Frederick doesn't talk about it much either... but I don't think the memories of his wife make him dislike being called that. He just thinks it sounds too childish for his age.
And looking at them like this, I don't think he'd want Marika to think he's childish.
Oh, may I get your opinion on a few ideas regarding these marines? )

Marika: "Rugged", hm? So that's what you call it nowadays? *chuckles* I see, I see... Oh, I remember that perforated poster. Never heard of them though... But I'm not surprised, new pirate crews spring up like mushrooms lately, it's hard to keep track of all of them.

(Hmm, she did? I only remember Dana saying that she likes her hair best because it reminds her of her mother... could it be that I just overlooked the "she's dead" part? Thehe, I see... Childish or not, if it's like this then Marika will continue to call him that.
Oho, I'd love to. Let me hear them~ )

Weresquirrel94 In reply to Mayuuko [2011-04-24 21:13:06 +0000 UTC]

Frederick: Hey, unlike women, my wrinkles only give my face character. .... *sigh* I wish my baby girl would just finally get back into her right mind. She used to be so cute, handling those cannons twice her size... I really think that Von Fout brainwashed her in one way or another.

(Oh, she didn't spell it out either... she prefers to use expressions like "passed away", "in a better place", or "met up with grandma". I think she just doesn't want to accept that her mom is no longer with us... she didn't even go to her funeral.
Much to Freddy's distaste.
Well, I'm kind of thinking about giving Fred a loyal sidekick, a younger girl, around 18: someone that's disturbingly like Dana, someone he can pour his overflowing fatherly love on. The girl, of course as it usually works, would fall head over heels for her teacher and harvest a deep hate for Dana, for making him feel so miserable- she'd try to fill the holes left both by his daughter and wife by becoming his almost-daughter and lover at the same time. Of course, she wouldn't stand a chance, if not because she's younger than his daughter, then because he still loves his wife in a way... and-slash-or, if you don't mind, is starting to have mixed feelings for Marika, confusing him even more? That's just a "spur of a moment" thing though, I haven't given it a second thought so far.)

Mayuuko In reply to Weresquirrel94 [2011-04-24 22:22:37 +0000 UTC]

Marika: "Unlike women"? Oh my, aren't we charming today? -.- But you're lucky, I don't have that many wrinkles... yet. *pats his shoulder* Don't think too much about it Freddy. I'm sure it is tough for you, as her father, but she chose that path herself, and moaning about it won't change anything... Have faith in your daughter. I'm sure she'll come to her senses one day.

(I see owo Well, to accept the death of a beloved one is always hard... especially if you didn't have the chance to bid your final farewell to him/her. :<
Ooh, so Freddy gets himself a substitute daughter? That's a slightly disturbing but nice twist. Aaand regarding Freddy's feelings for Mari... I don't mind at all, quite the opposite, I think that's a cute idea. Though Marika will most likely be a bit oblivious to it. How will wannabe-Dana react if she finds out that he doesn't reciprocate her feelings?)

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Weresquirrel94 In reply to Mayuuko [2011-04-24 22:50:22 +0000 UTC]

Frederick: Please, I'm always charming. One, I'd still prefer "Fred", two, I'm not sure if she still knows what "senses" are. >.>

(Oh, she had a chance- I'm thinking about making her sister tell her in a letter, and ask her not to come, for Fred's sake. If there's anyone in this world other than Talos Dana listens to, it must be her sis.
Yay! That's pretty much what I've been thinking- a subtle crush, only strong enough to make him feel like he's cheating on his wife [even though she's been dead for 4 years now], but not strong enough to make him want to make a move. Just a drizzle of sugar on the top of his misery-cappuchino. .w.
And how will she react... *whistle* She'd probably go berserk. In my head, she's been a tsundere of sorts, if she were to find out he has even friendly feelings for Mari, eeeh... I don't want to see that.)

(Ooooh... owo Didn't know she had a sister as well... oh my, I should pay more attention to stuff. DX
So be it then! Aw, if all men were that faithful to their wifes, dead or not... the world would definitely be a better place. >w>
Somehow I anticipated that reaction of hers...and Mari would have no clue what's going on. Aah, you gotta love those insanely jealous characters, they keep things interesting.)

Frederick: ... sure, why not. *ears flush a little* I could use a coffee now. With rum. In fact, screw the coffee.

(Hah, actually you didn't miss anything, I've been keeping her hidden. I didn't want to expose too many things at once, to keep my watchers/readers/whateverers interested, if they were at the first place. ... she also has a little brother. So, being a middle child, the high expectations because of her big sis and not enough attention because of li'l bro explain why she turned a pirate after all- Middle Child Syndrome. I researched these kinda psychological semi-issues a little to explain her behavior, this seemed best.
Inorite? -w- Ma' boys are just too sweet.
Yep, especially if the sociopaths are on the good side. I just realized [took me long enough], for the OP world, the supposedly bad OCs are the sane ones, while the "good guys" are usually insane. What a wonderful contradiction, gotta love 'em. )

[Not surprised that she doesn't notice, most of his left ear is missing, not much to flush there. ]

(Eh, it's kind of like daddy issues- I've been debating between those two, but it's been proven that middle children have better chances of becoming delinquents and/or loners, since they're fighting for their parents' attention and feel like outsiders even in their own families- better than issues over not being loved enough by daddy, IMO.
Gotta love psychosocial issues. )
