I feel annoyed when I see people hate on boom for the smallest and almost the dumbest of things. Over all I feel like the TV series feels so underrated I kinda recommend you watch the second season if you want to, or you can always start from the beginning you need to give it time and such (it also has inspired by 90's cartoons and sitcoms too)And also play the new one in the series sonic boom fire and ice it's a lot of fun and if you enjoy the sonic rush games you will enjoy this! When you collect stuff in the game you can get cool upgrades with Amy's hammer and find stuff behind the scenes in how everything was made which I love ^^ So yeah please give this a chance you don't have to be into Sonic you can still enjoy the TV series which is also now on Netflix and other video sites too.

People are just juggle over the characters, jokes, and games anyway but that was just thier opinion...in abit harsh way...
Somehow I have feel they're don't have a sense in "cartoon" is suppose to be just for entertainment. I get it that Sonic Boom might be acts abit dumb and goofy, but doesn't mean that is that bad thing, its just for "entertainment" purpose.
As for games, they're juggle over the quality, reviews and such. Rise of Lyric might be not good to start, Shattered Crystal is just right, Fire & Ice is average when developer has learned. And don't forget Sonic Dash 2, I heard its enjoyable well.
Overall you don't have to worried about the people hates Sonic Boom, just let them hate and enjoy what you like, they don't have an empower by thier voices to kill Sonic Boom franchise anyway, unless you give more pay attention to SEGA for keep them live.

For me Sonic Boom is like this:
Rise of Lyric- Really bad
Shattered Crystal- Just below average
TV Show- Pretty good
Fire & Ice- Above average
