Description "Judgement Carnival" is a 15x19 original airbrush, colored pencil, and acrylic on illustration board. It is going to be used in the 78 Tarot card deck release 78 Tarot Carnival. It features a tarot deck with a carnival theme, so all card elements had to be incorporated into the piece

This is gorgeous. I love the softened edges and colors. And the DETAILS. So many tiny, lovely details.

Fantastic. Great work on the composition.  Love the feel you've achieved. The traditional materials give it a quality and life I don't think you'd get using purely digital techniques.

Thanks! I've seen great digital work, but it just never clicked with me. After years of doing different media, I think I just finally settled a bit on what works best for me.

Beautiful work. Cool to see folks out there that not only use traditional medium, but use is in a masterful way.

Thanks! I see a lot more digital work out there than traditional, too. I've never really gotten into doing it.

There's a fantasy artist named Wayne Reynolds that does all his stuff in acrylics. I read an interview where he said he tried digital, but he couldn't reproduce certain things he could do with acrylics. He had already refined his working method and wasn't having issues meeting his deadlines, so he saw no reason to switch.

Yeah, he's great. He does work for both Wizards of the Coast (Dungeons & Dragons) as well as Paizo (Pathfinder), and even thought they are both fantasy based games with similar characters, weapons, places, etc., he manages to use a slightly different look for both companies. I kinda like his Pathfinder stuff, which is a bit more angular, for lack of a better term.

Anyway, I don't mean to take away focus from your work. It's beautiful in it's own right by all means. I just thought you might like to see someone else that isn't working digital.
