The white should be correctly balanced (you can see it from its ears and its mouth) so my answer is... I don't know
I suppose that the mix of the white and the grey fur, plus the weather conditions (cloudy at sunset) create a sort of illusion.

Anyway, I'm not an expert, so I'm really curious, how can you tell that it's a "she"?

To be honest, I have no idea, whether it's "he" or "she".
In my mother tongue -- Latvian -- there is one word for both genders of this animal (which sounds like it was meant only for feminine animals). Therefore I used this form.
