A lot to say about this, but sooo damn tired after working on it all night. Ok... make that the last four hours, but it felt like it took for-fucking-ever.

A few days ago I saw a YouTube video of a politician talking about how many children have committed suicide because of bullying, especially those of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transexual orientations. I realize that this is far from new, but regardless of the time frame, it's sad, and it needs to stop. I was quite pleased to see the purple banner at the top of dA toda--yesterday now and what it meant. I think this is a fantastic cause, and I will gladly draw for it.

As a sufferer of bullying in my past, and as a pansexual woman, I understand how life can be tough. Especially in school. Children are cruel little bastards. But, even though I've contemplated suicide at least once in my life, here I am today. I may not be the most successful example of life getting better, but I can assure you... at LEAST after school is out forever, life does get better.

So, I figured McKaela and Ashley would be perfect for this. They're both bi (well, MK is pan, but nobody cares about the difference anyway), so I thought that the symbolism behind them would be pretty obvious. It's both about GLBT pride and Spirit Day.

I tried some new things. I had at first entertained coloured lineart, but it blended too much with McKaela's hair and looked tacky, so I went with black. Also, I don't usually colour sketches... I generally prefer nice clean lines, but I figured this would be a fun change of pace. Also, I don't usually use any specific colours for shading, but I used a purple tone this time, though it's not obvious. Think this thing is purple enough?

I liked drawing the cloth the most. Also, wow, tasteful nudity... I've only done that (and submitted it) once before, I think? So not maturing this.

Ugh, so tired, can't think anymore. Just wanted to submit this and get involved. Sorry, commissioners! I had a time limit, and this was a decent warmup to get me back to arting. Also, watch for a Halloween picture coming soon. After that, I gotta get back on schedule with my commissions. x.x;

Edit: I realized that the drop shadow behind them was at the wrong angle, so I changed it. Nothing big. NOW I sleep.
