Captain's Starlog Stardate 0033.26We have moved into investigate a sensor reading that indicated another Federation ship in the area. What we have found is nothing like I have ever seen before. AfterΒ detectingΒ a faint bio signature on the otherwise lifeless vessel I am preparing to lead a boarding party.

The pilot enterprise's ramscoops never tuned grey when the ship powered down they stayed red as they were never lighted.

We've never seen them powered down, plus I like to think of them as transparent aluminium domes filled with gases that are collected

I can see where youre coming from. I was thinking they stayed red when powered down based off the fact they were made of solid wood painted red on the first version of the 11 foot model in the Smithsonian. but I like your Idea better

My idea is that the two ships are occupying the same point in space but not time. To each other the other ship looks like it's been derelict for decades. The faint bio signal on each ship isn't a coincidence
