So yeah this is Hyper Sonic from Sonic 3 and Knuckles. I'm sad that he is not cannon from the sonic games which means that he wouldn't appear in newer sonic games.

Hyper Sonic is the best reward in any video game in my opinion because he's basically like super sonic but with a double jump, screen clearing move and survive underwater. I feel like I accomplished something great after getting all of the super emeralds. Hyper Sonic is the reason why I think Sonic 3 and Knuckles is slightly better than Sonic Mania. I like Sonic Mania, they improved the gameplay but I think Sonic 3 and Knuckles is better for a sense of accomplishment, originality and challenge.
