Awesome piece, Tato. I love your doodles for the soul. I'm sorry some people just want to hate and judge. It's just up to the rest of us to love and accept.

You act like having a safe space is a bad thing. Why so outwardly negative? What's there for you to gain? A sense of accomplishment feeling as though you're better than someone because gosh darn it you're facing reality? You know for some people the reality has been so bad that they need to have a place to get away to and I'm heavily moderating comments for that. Like isn't that what the Internet is for, getting away from reality? Plus how do you know I refuse to face it since this is just one Internet post, you don't know my life or who I am.

How is you silencing someone's opnion a good thing? Creating an echo chamber is the worst possible thing anyone could do. Me pointing out things alone isn't being negative. It's what things are today, don't like it tough luck. And you didn't mention that Islam is the real offender against gays but you made a "subtle" hint at christians as if they're the big bad guys hunting gays with death squads or something.

You know why I didn't mention Islam, it's because I can't speak of what I don't know. I haven't read the Quran and I'd rather not share misinformation. But if you want to take the "subtle" hint at being a negative to Christians than maybe it's also because in my life and my friends (whom this body of work is dedicated to) its been Christianity that has been their opposition. There was no mention of death squads and you're just putting words into my mouth. So yes it of course is biased to it but that is simply due to the fact of personal relevancy. If Islam is personally relevant to your oppression then do something or make something about it rather than complaining on some random persons art submission meant first for their friends and then the rest of the LGBT community. I mean you seem to not like what I'm saying or what I typed or probably will type and you seem to be unhappy with the fact I'm strictly moderating. You don't like it? Tough luck.

I'm having an issue with people over glorifying literally nothing. You don't see us straight people holding parades for being straight now do you? Pride has to be backed up with some great accomplishment other wise it loses it's value as a label. You don't see people being prideful for taking a dump or me rubbing it under everybody's noses how much pride I have in being a straight white male.
Like I said, this whole pride thing lost its meaning lately when you can give it to literally anyone without any form of effort.
And I don't know what filters you've been using on your senses but here's a little reminder Chechnya's gay concentration camps, the Orlando Shooting, gays being thrown off of rooftops/killed in Islamic countries or if you want an example not related to that ideology, gays being executed in Cuba or forcibly turned into women via surgery, just to list a few things off the top of my head.

Alright, I'll indulge you one last time, since this is going nowhere and I hope we can agree to disagree.
The "glorification" is for something. You yourself are literally naming out a bunch of the horrific things being done to people just because they are gay. So having a time and a space to be proudly open about who you are and who you love means a lot to some people. Maybe not to you, but that doesn't mean it's meaningless to others. You can be proud of being straight, especially if you've ever had to fear for your life simply because you were. Have pride in yourself! That's the main point of this month, yes it's focused on the LGBT community but there's no one saying (and if they are they're close minded) that you can't be proud in who you are, regardless of sexual orientation. Taking a dump is an action and not you as an individual. I mean taking a shit is literally expelling something from your body haha, so that's just a false equivalency. Maybe the whole pride month seems meaningless to you but I can assure you there are plenty whom benefit from this time greatly and that's okay if you don't see that!
For all these other things you've listed, I didn't say that they weren't happening, I don't understand the point you're trying to make by listing these off in relation to our discussion. I haven't read the Quran simple. So I cannot speak for what it says in the book (because in our discussion that was the only time I mentioned Christianity, the text and how I've read it and what it says). This part of your complaint (i guess it is, I don't even know anymore) was based off of one small sentence that you decided to translate how you want. To say that Islam directly affected my friends would be a lie. I also didn't know anyone who was at the Orlando shooting. I don't know anyone who lives in Cuba being forcibly executed, etc. and I therefore I did not mention it in that small, in parenthesis, sentence. Minus the parenthesis and it says "You may not agree, your religion may tell you to hate gays but that does not give you the right to treat another human being as any lesser than yourself." Based off of how you've been responding to me, It feels like you are choosing to read what you want rather than seeing what I've actually typed. And therefore there's nothing really that I can do about that to further this conversation. Thanks for the discussion though!

Here's the biggest flaw I see, in the west gays have nothing to fear for (unlike in the Middle East and Africa or Cuba), they are accepted yet what do we hear nonstop? "We want more diversity" or "heteronormative oppression" or other meaning less phrases. And I can assure you the second there would be a straight pride parade held on the streets the lunatic part of the LGBT community (or LGBTWTFBBQ since some people just slap on more letters for the fuck of it) would go apeshit and shut it down labeling it "appropriating gay culture" or some nonsense like that.
Just because something doesn't affect your friends, it still exists and has an effect on the community as a whole, but do as you wish, I just don't see how can people still point fingers at Christianity (which has reformed itself unlike Islam) when no sane Christian has stoned a gay person because the bible said so, rednecks in the woods probably at some point in time, but those aren't every single Christian, while in Islam every person loath and hate gays.
Also please explain how is it a proud thing to have orgies on the street or have people march in gimp suits with dildo horns? Or need I bring up the most disturbing thing of all that was at a pride parade?

Justify this as "proud".

How is me pointing out that doing those insane things on the streets during a parade isn't an insult to public decency? That ain't a bias, you can take pride without being some degenerate in a gimpsuit.

also either way i think a lot of people would pay no mind to it if it was heterosexual bit since its gay its all something thats gross or sexual or terrible. and when its straight its loving and normal and completley pure and okay like Whart rthe heck dude

The hell sort of mental gymnastics are you doing to think that? Disrupting public decency is still disrupting public decency regardless if it's a straight or gay couple doing it. Seriously get back to reality.

but your posting this on a pride pic O__O pride motnh is about repersentations of love not asome random kid complainin about something gay being "indecent" (well straight people do the same shit and barely anyone complains) what u should be talkinn about is the beautiful lovely things about the gay community and what a celebration it is of diversity

Mate397 In reply to Ember-star [2017-06-04 15:49:58 +0000 UTC]
Where is this bias towards straight people coming from? Do you think there is some conspiracy against the gays planned by straight people? Being indecent in public is still punished and called out regardless of the sexual orientation. Again, I don't know what fairytale you're living in but you should wake up from that daydream.
Forgive me while I throw up because the word diversity has been so over used to excuse so many horrible things I can't see it as anything good in today's world. Remember the saying? United we stand, divided we fall. Causing more layers of division among people is a weakness, without people having something to stand behind they are nothing but cattle waiting for the slaughter. And no, "diversity" as a cause is not something that can unite people, especially this hamfisted forced down your throat type the west is pushing on its people.

An inspirational art piece and all I can say how could hate bring down love which that what the LGBT community strives for peace, love and to live. Like many of your art piece that comes with the soul which now in days the world is missing it as well as love and peace, but little by little it not all gone and forgotten and your works like this will remind us love is still strong as well as the human soul.
