Today was horrible like always. I was walking home from school like everyday. I live pretty far but I can’t ride the bus unless I want to get beaten up or called a fag the whole ride. I am not popular, at all. Everyone hates me. Well almost everyone. I have Mikey ,my brother ,and my friend Lillie. She is best girl in the whole world. I love her so much. I really couldn’t ask for a better friend.

So I’m not going to actually go home just yet. I’m going to go to the park like every other day. I love it there. I always sit under this huge tree and draw.  Today was no different I was on my way to the park yet again. All I had was a sketch book in hand. I don’t have any school books because I don’t care about school. I want to be an artist. I want to write and draw comics or something.

I got to the park and walk over to my tree. It was beautiful. Probably over a hundred years old. Thick and tall. I sat on the ground with my back against the bark of the tree and opened up my sketch book. I started drawing the people that were in front of me. They all looked so happy. So content with there lives. Like nothing bad could happen, like everything would always be happy. I know that’s a load of shit. I know that things can change in a second. Things can go from happy to miserable so fast. You can loose everything you thought you would always have.

-flashback-

“Hey Gerard it time to get up for school.” My mom called for the top of the stairs. I slowly pulled myself up from the nice warm bed I was in. I grabbed cloths that were clean-ish off the floor and walked into my bathroom. Pulled off the boxers I had on and got a quick shower. Then dressed and headed upstairs.

I walked into the kitchen to see Mikey sitting at the table eating cereal. I just grabbed a cup of coffee and sat next to him. He stopped shoving food in his mouth long enough to say hi to me and started again. For the stick figure that he is he’s always eating something. Really  any normal person would think he’s anorexic or something, he really is that skinny. As I sat in the kitchen my stepfather came in. My whole world changed when my mother said ‘I do’ to him. He knew I was gay before they got married and didn’t like it. He’s good to my mother and I really do think he loves her but he’s a homophobe. He beats the shit out of me all the time. But I cant bring myself to tell my mother. I want her to be happy maybe he’ll cool down, or at least I hope he will.

I snapped back to reality, wishing that that asshole wasn’t my stepfather. Wishing I could tell my mom without breaking her heart. Luckily he doesn’t beat me as much. He still calls me a useless fag everyday but doesn’t physically abuse me as much. I’m not saying he doesn’t because he does but its not  everyday anymore which I couldn’t be happier about. Well that is unless he stopped all together.

I went back to drawing some random girl sitting on a swing. She looked so happy swinging back and forth.

After a few minutes I saw a boy about my age walking toward me. He looked really pissed off.

“Yeah hey dude why the hell do you keep looking at my little sister on the swing?”

“Oh sorry I mean no harm I was just drawing for class, I have to draw people doing natural things.” I lied I always tell people its for class if they get pissed. Its only happened about five times before but I always fear there going to like kill me or something. I showed him my sketch of her.

“Wow that’s good and I‘m sorry I thought you like some weird perv or something.” Then he extended his hand to me. “I’m Frank Iero”

I shook his hand and said “Gerard Way, and its fine.” I smiled at him.

“Well ok I can‘t leave her alone for a real perv to get her so I‘ll see you around Gerard” He said and smiles, then walked back to her. Well ok that went better then I thought.

On my way home it started to rain. I love rain but not when I have a sketches with me. I unzipped my sweatshirt, put my book against my chest and zipped it back up.

I got home and went right to my room. The safest place for me to be. I love my room so really its not a bad thing I’m always down here. I drew for a little while longer and then went to sleep. The sad thing about my day is this is what happens like everyday. I need something new in my life. Something to make me happy.

-the next day-

Again school was miserable. I don’t understand how fun it is to fuck with someone. I mean really how fun can it possibly be to make someone else feel like shit. I like making people happy to an extent. I would never make someone feel bad on purpose. But if that’s what there going to do I guess I need to stop bitching and deal.

I sat against me tree yet again and started drawing. Today I drew some superhero’s and ended us doing a comic strip. After about an hour I saw that dude from yesterday walking toward me. I have no idea what he’s going to say because I really wasn’t looking up at all today. I only looked up because I herd something. I don’t even remember his fucking name! shit. I looked down at my sketch book and continued to draw. He came up in front of me and sat down and crossed his legs.

“Hey Gerard” He said and smiled

“Hey uhh”

“Its Frank”

“I’m sorry, hi Frankie” I smiled back and flipped the page of my sketch book. At the top of the page I wrote ‘Frankie’.

“Its alright.” Ok now he’s freaking me out no one ever talks to me.

“Ok Frankie not to be a bitch but why are you talking to me? No one talks to me.” I asked looking up at him every once in a while, quickly moving my had across the page of my book.

“You seemed like a nice guy and I felt bad for yesterday.”

“Oh ok well thanks I guess, and really dude its fine.”

“Yay ok what are you drawing?”

“You.” I said still drawing away. He looked surprised when I said that. He really hot and now I won’t forget his name.

“Wow really can I see it?” he asked

“You can when its done, if you want to stay for like ten more minutes.” I told him. So he did and we talked. We found out that we like the same kind of music. He likes horror movies and comic books. We have never seen each other before because he goes to privet school and I go to public. He was actually a really cool guy. When I was done I smiled at him and said “Ok I’m done” I handed him the book and his jaw dropped.

“Holy shit Gee this looks exactly like me. How the hell did you do this so fast?”

“I’m a ok artist and I’m not used to having a model that’s not moving around.”

“Ok? Your fantastic! I really am amazed!” I just smiled. We talked for a while longer until Frank said he had to head home.

“Gerard I really want to see you again” He said shyly. It was adorable

“Well Frankie give me your phone.” He handed me his cellular and I put my number in it. “Ok well call me or not whatever you would like.” He smiled and walked away.

It was still to early to go home so I walked over to Lillie’s. When I got to her house I opened the door and walked up to her room. I don’t knock anymore, I mean she told me to just come in so she doesn’t have to come get the door. I have been coming to her house for like twelve years. Were like family.

When I walked into her room she was with her boyfriend Sam. They don’t have sex so its still safe to just walk in. Lillie says she’s doing it until she’s out of high school so she doesn’t get pregnant or something. Anyways that’s kind of off topic. I walked in and Lillie jumped off her bed and jumped on me causing me to fall on the ground. Sam just laughed at us.

“Gerard what brings you here? Why aren‘t you drawing in the park?” Sam asked. He really is a cool dude, perfect for Lillie.

“I just wanted to show you guys something I did.” I smiled. I opened up the sketch book to the page with Frank and showed it to them.

“OMG this boy is adorable, and Gee did he sit still for you?” I smiled and nodded.

“Well he actually came up to me and started talking to me he‘s the guy from yesterday with the sister I told ya about.”

“Gerard you like this guy don’t you!” Sam said. I could feel myself blushed.

“But I don’t even know if he’s gay and I didn’t tell him I was but I did give him my number.”

“Wait why did you give it to him?”

“He said he wanted to see me again.” Lillie and Sam both smiled

“Gerard a strait boy wouldn’t say he wants to see you again he totally likes you!” Lillie said a little high pitched.

“Dude that’s so true” I couldn’t stop smiling. Maybe someone likes me! That would be awesome but I’m not going to get my hopes up. Being friends with Frank would be good too. He was really interesting and we liked the same stuff. Having another friend would be awesome.

After talking to Lillie and Sam for a little while longer I left and went home and strait to my room. Mikey came down and we talked for a while. He’s having some girl troubles. I think he asks me because I’m gay but the only girl I know anything about is Lillie. But whatever. He likes this girl named Alicia. She seems cool from what he tells me. It would be really cool if he got a girlfriend. He’s just nervous about asking her out. There friends he’s just scared she doesn’t like him. He asked me if I would talk to her but I told him I would get Lillie to so I don’t scare her or something. I scared some people. Oh well.

So when Mikey was done talking he left and I went to sleep. I am actually looking forward to tomorrow, which I probably shouldn’t be. I hope I see Frank or he calls me but I doubt it. Well only tomorrow will tell.

-the next day-

Today’s school was pretty bad but not the worst. I got Lillie to talk to Alicia for me. She’s so sweet, she’ll do anything for me. So yeah I told her to ask Alicia if she liked anyone. Alicia asked why and Lillie told her she knew someone who did. Alicia said she did but was nervous to tell Lillie who it was. So Lillie called me over. Damn Alicia being so whatever.

“Gerard she won‘t tell me who she likes!” Lillie yelled to me. So I walked over.

“Why do you want to know Gerard?” Alicia asked, a little confused.

“Ok Alicia hears the deal. Some one asked me to ask you. He‘s scared shitless to ask himself. Which I said was kinda stupid but whatever. And know that I‘m talking to you, you probably know who it is but you may not.”

“OMG are you saying Mikey likes me?” she squeaked.

“Yeah and I‘m talking that squeaky thing as you like him too.” She smiled at us then we walked away. Wow that was easier then I thought.

After school I went to my tree again. How original right. So I started to draw. I didn’t feel like people today so again I didn’t look up from the book. After about an hour it was starting to get rainy looking. Right as I was getting up to leave I saw frank walking over to me.

“Hey Frankie” I said and smiled at him.

“Hey Gerard, are you leaving?”

“Yeah I think it might rain and I don’t want to fuck up my sketches.”

“Oh ok” He looked a little disappointed when I said I was leaving.

“Frankie what’s wrong?” I asked I could totally tell he was upset.

“Its nothing I just wanted to talk to you.”

“Well you still can, but not here come to my house?” His face lit up. How cute.

The walk to my house was fun. We talked the whole time. We like exactly the same things. Its really cool. When we got to my house we walked down to my room. Frank walked over to my desk where I have all my goodish drawing are hung up. I have a lot of Lillie and I have my Frankie drawing. I also Have a few Mikey drawings.

“Wow Gerard. Hey you have my picture!” he giggled

“Yeah I thought it turned out good.” He smiled and maybe blushed a little.

“Who‘s this girl? You have a lot of her.”

“Oh that’s my Lillie. Isn‘t she beautiful.”

“Yeah she is…uhh is she like your girlfriend?”

“Nah she‘s my best friend.” He smiled when I said best friend. I’m really starting to think Lillie was right.

“Well who‘s this dude?” He pointed at Mikey

“That’s Mikey, with his awesome glasses, I really love his glasses they make him look so good. He‘s my little brother.”

“Oh I see.”

“Yup, only important people make that wall.”

“You think I‘m important?”

“Oh yeah definitely. I don’t have any friends other then Lillie. Were friends right?”

“Oh yeah were friends.” Then he said something I really couldn’t understand. Something about more or something.

“So Gerard why don‘t you have a picture of a girlfriend or something up here?” I just laughed.

“I never have and never will have a girlfriend. I‘m more into the boys I hope your not a homophobe.”

“For real?” He said with a huge smile on his face.

“Yeah is that a problem?”

“Oh my god no. To be honest I have a huge crush on you. Well really its more then just a crush. I really REALLY like you” When he said that all I could do is stair at him. I really couldn’t believe it. I mean no one ever even talks to me and this guy says he likes me. I don’t even understand why there’s nothing special about me. All I am is an ugly art freak that no one likes.

“Gerard if you don‘t feel the same way its ok I just thought you did…” He trailed off. His face was so miserable, and all because he thought I didn’t like him.

“No Frankie I just don‘t really understand why you would like me. I do like you a lot, its just you could do a million times better.”

“That’s not true. Your perfect! You like all the same things as me, you like the same music, comics, movies. And your beautiful, your like a dark angel.”

“Damn Frank, I can‘t even…like oh my god…and you think I‘m beautiful?”

“Of coarse I do I mean just look at you. But that’s not the reason I like you. Its how much we have in common, you being beautiful is just like a bonus. I mean I have never met a guy as sweet as you that looked so good.”

“Oh my god.” Is that really all I could say? I mean really Gerard that sucked. Now Franks going to think I’m slow or something.

“Gerard do you really like me?”

“Yes! God yes. Your amazing , smart, funny, and the most interesting person I have ever met. I‘m just still shocked someone as fantastic as you would like someone like me.”

“Well Gerard I have just realized that we both hate ourselves and don‘t think were good enough for the other person. But if you give me the honor to be your boyfriend? Or take you on a date?” My jaw dropped when he said that. Really it did. Frank just smiled.

“You wanna be my boyfriend?”

“Yes” He said with a huge smile.

“Well hell yeah! Oh my god I have a boyfriend.” with that Frank cupped my face with his hands and pulled my face to his. It was a perfect kiss. Soft and sweet and I saw fireworks.

Frankie left shortly after that because his mother told him to come home. About I second after he left I got a text on my cell phone.

‘Gerard miss u already’ How cute! We texted the whole rest of the night. He was about the nicest guy ever. I think I really may be falling for him. He may be the thing I need. The thing I need to be happy again. To make life interesting and fun again.
