Description The Flying Head is a beast of Iroquoian folklore. It is described as a disembodied head with long hair, large wings, a mouth full of fangs and clawed hands growing out from under its chin. Since the creature had no body, it also lacked a stomach to fill, and was therefore always hungry. My idea of what the creature could have looked like is somewhat owlish in design, since the Iroquois considered owls to be sinister creatures, associated with witches and sorcerers. An abnormally large owl could easily have been perceived as a demonic winged creature. Besides, owls are creepy. Sure, some of them look cute, but they're still creepy. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
