Me too. I mean given the context of the series, I'm guessing it's probably not going to end well for anyone, but I at least hope Deet will get better at some point.

I think the creators released a statement that the film shouldn't be referenced as the exact reference for everything that happens in the show.

Still, you're right that it's probably not ending well for anyone.
I just want Deet to be well enough to see her friends and Rian again.

Interesting, now I'm even more excited to see how it goes!

Another thing a friend and I discussed yesterday, since Aughra came back when the Hunter is killed, maybe the other drained Gelfling might have some hope when the Crystal is eventually restored. Of course, it would be like waking up after being in a coma for decades, but still.

I've thought about that, and I'm still not sure it would work out. I think that once the gelfling essence is used up by the sksksis, they would have returned to Thra. Also, the fact that Aughra is essentially a goddess may have contributed to her survival.

That's true. Still, for the sake of the species, I hope there's a few more Gelfling hiding deep in the Caves of Grot or something, or Jen and Kira are going to have some serious issues with repopulating.

I need to read the sequel series to figure out how Jen and Kira got out of that problem.
Apparently, many trine in the future there's a new group called the "Gelfling Nation" and this hopefully implies there were more than Jen and Kira hiding across Thra.

I bet you that if anyone is able to survive, though, it's the Sifa Clan. A bunch of them were probably sailing in to port one day, saw a bunch of Garthim destroying the town, and just noped on out of there

Yeah, i used to do that, but I feel like as an adult I feel like i should start supporting brands. I might cave and read it, but I'll wait.
Also, since I work at a library now, I can try to annoy the librarians into buying Dark Crystal Books. 

I was having a similar conversation with someone about this. I feel like the Sifa and Dousan are the most likely to survive since they both can live in remote areas.

Same, I only really do the sneaky stuff nowadays if I want to "try before I buy" or if it's not available anywhere else in English or out of print. And I should pick your brain sometime, I've actually been looking into doing my Master's in library science. Only if you don't mind, of course.

Oh man, I hope if/when Season 2 comes around, we get to see more of those clans.

I do that too, as i don't want to buy a book I'm going to end up hating. When I get my next paycheck, I might buy creation myths since I read the first book at the library. Out of print is also a case where i pirate stuff, since there's no way I'm going to find this thing. I recently looked up a manga I read as a child and the books are sometimes listed at around 100$ or more.
Oh, I'm not a librarian. I'm a page. Tbh, I have no idea what kind of masters degree I want or how I'll pay for it - but I want to get a full time job before I figure that out.

I figured. If your place is like mine, most of the jobs at the local library are part-time at best. I'm volunteering there so if a position I want opens I'll already be friendly with the staff and might have a leg up. I'm trying to get a fulltime job first before I get my masters too, I think that's a good plan.

Lol, i did the same. I volunteered a lot when I was a highschooler so everyone likes me. 
Yeah, this job is nice but I really want something fulltime.

Yes, Jen clearly has pigmentation markers similar to a gelfling of stonewood descent.
To be honest, I don't think Rian was a chosen one at all. I believe that he, Skekgra, and Urgoh might believe that because of his similar appearance, but ultimately Rian is doomed to fail.
