Matt makes quite an impression with this Bass painting. The tiny dots of colors though the fish really give it a realistic facade. The overlay of sweeps from left to right create the underlying illusion of underwater currents. The front vegitations being more in-focus in contrast to the blurred background vegitation adds more realism. This is a fantasic representation worthy of any big fisherman magazine.
The only thing that could even possibly improve it more are deeper shadows under the fish. The shadows on the rocks outside the fishes shadow are darker than those under the shadow of the Bass. Some shadows on the fish could be darker too. Like on certain areas of his underbelly where the fins meet the belly perhaps.
