Well uh I have nothing to say except that these cubs are the children of Scar and Sarabi. The male one (whose name means gift) is the eldest, and the female (whose name means the second of the twins) is his younger sister.
Kirabo was Scar's heir until he was attacked by a tramp, which made him kinda weak and sickly, and then Scar made the newborn Kovu his heir (Kirabo, however, was not against it – he wasn't too interested in royal life and didn't think that he could put the Pridelands in order, and Scar knew it.)
Kato didn't really like her dad's politic and wanted to leave, but Kirabo asked her to stay. When Simba returned to Pridelands, Kato remained in the pride for some time, but soon changed her mind and joined outlanders. Oh and yeah her ear was probably damaged by a hyena, but she said she just fell badly and cut her ear on a rock or something.
