I am unsure if this is the Tasmanian Inchman - Myrmecia esuriens,or, the "regular" Inchman - Myrmecia forficata.
This Inchman stopped to "pose" for me, much to my delight.
I am happy to finally have a portrait of one!
As their name suggests, they are about an inch long.
I assume these guys can bite, but it is their sting is more painful.
I was stung by one through my gardening gloves. on 17, 01, 22.
It actually didn't hurt that much, might have been worse if not
for my gloves. It's left a red circle which is beginning to itch.
