Description That evening.

Evan moved in closer, pressing his large body harder against Luis' smaller one, before stripping himself of his jacket. He automatically walked over to the white leather couch in the living room, ready to throw the piece of clothing on its back support, when he saw the sleeping form of Jonathan Dennis Barker. With Luis on his tail, the Asian-Canadian spoke to him in a whispering tone. "Is he not sleeping well?" Luis had already taken his jacket and disposed of it in the hallway. "Why'd you ask that?" He asked as he made his way back into the living room. It wasn't yet dark outside, but the formerly clear skies were trading places with a pallet of darker shades. He heard Evan sneak through the living room,  trying his hardest to keep himself from waking the sleeping beauty that had claimed the couch as his throne. Once both men found their way to the kitchen, Luis closed the slide door separating the living room from the kitchen, whilst Evan seated himself. "He's sleeping during the daytime. I thought maybe he wasn't sleeping well. You know.." Evan looked up and away from the two dogs that were clawing at his jeans. "After all the hardship he went through with the loss of his father.."

The Hispanic man signaled the two dogs to lie down in their beds, occasionally glancing up at his friend, to respond with a gentle smile. "Oh, no. I think he's dealing well with that, as far as I can tell." He pulled one of the chairs back, then paused for a moment, and opened the fridge. "Then again, he hasn't really told me much about any of that." He reached the Asian-Canadian a cool bottle of water. "He fell asleep not so long ago. I had planned to clean the place entirely today, and he offered to help." He watched Evan take a sip and wipe his mouth, then took a seat himself. "And you know me - when it comes to physical labor, I can't pass up on helping hands." The bottle of water now rested on the table, stray droplets slid down the curved plastic, leaving circular marks on the table leaf. "Dee and cleaning.." Evan chuckled. "Never thought I'd ever hear those two things in the same sentence." He shook his head and leaned back in his chair, to which Luis sent him a quick wink. "He did a great job on it too." He curled his stubby fingers around a vibrant red can of vanilla flavored Coke, and aimed it at Evan. "You're also bulking up nicely, I see."

The Asian-Canadian bit back a shocked expression, as his first reaction would've normally been one drenched in utmost modesty and insecurity. He followed Luis' line of sight and landed on his very own biceps. "Yeah, it had been a while since I had last gone to the gym." He flashed a nimble smile. "I needed it. It feels good to be back in shape again." He caught Luis lost in thoughts for a moment, before snapping back to reality. "Sometimes I think I could use some exercise too.." The Hispanic man raised his arms and cast a quick glance at his own physique. This was a motion Evan quickly discarded by shaking his head with a grin. "Lui, you're not fat. You're fine the way you are man. If you'd get all ripped, it'd just be weird." After giving it a second thought, Luis' lips curved. "A bit of exercise has never harmed anyone. And.. look at you. You're getting all the ladies." The table cloth covering the table leaf was lavender in color. It suited the white table, yet a surprisingly soft touch for a house inhabited and decorated by two men. The piece of fabric caught Evan's eye, and it almost instantly reminded him of his grandmother's kitchen.

A sweet Chinese woman with a knack for art, which she often times depicted by providing the many walls in her house with plentiful colors. Lavender had been her choice for the kitchen, and had been the only color she hadn't repainted soon there after. The sound of Luis tapping his fingers on the table, caused Evan to step off his train of thoughts. "I'm starting to think that my status, career and ethnicity play a bigger role in me being popular among the ladies."

This caused the 32-year old to raise an eyebrow in curiosity. "So, you're trying to tell me that the fact that you're foreign, is the reason as to why women are all over you?" His fist and the table connected with a loud bang. "Man, that's a load of bull. I'm double the foreign. I'm Spanish and Filipino - Which is highly desired. I mean .. Who can resist Latin-American men?" Evan mouthed a chuckle, and pressed his thumb into the curved line in the water bottle. "But I'm double the Asian." This time, Luis merely snarled. "Tsk, yeah. It's your career and status, alright. 16Mil subs and counting. Women only see dollar signs the moment they lay eyes on you."

Chuckling, Evan planted his fist against Luis' shoulder. "Man, you're a dick."

"And you're an asshole. So, you better grow eyes on the back of your head, son."

Evan just cracked up. "Dirty minded, fucker!"

Jonathan awoke to the dimmed sounds of voices, yet neither of said voices sounded familiar to him. His left arm felt numb, yet the feeling was short-lived and replaced by the sensation of pins and needles, the moment he had pushed himself upward. With the other hand he wiped the dry crusts from between his lashes, and he licked the remainders of warm drool from the corners of his mouth. The lights in the living room were dim, the curtains drawn and there was a suspicious lack of fingers racing across a keyboard. From the corner of his eye he saw a beloved face, rounded in shape, with gentle, almond shaped eyes.

"Where's Lui?" Jonathan spoke in a hoarse voice. Evan turned to look at him, his beautiful smile ready. "He took the dogs for a walk." The Asian-Canadian placed the television remote on the couch's arm rest. "Did you sleep well?" Jonathan just sent him a silent nod of the head, got onto his feet and threw himself next to Evan on the couch. There his nose picked up the lavender scent of Evan's cologne, mixed with a coconut butter shampoo scent - and he couldn't help but inhale for a moment. Evan kept his eyes on the television screen, even when Jonathan decided to rest his head in the man's lap. His heavy eyelids slowly sunk back down, and as he breathed out a muffled yawn, he felt a blanket being pulled over his slim frame. Almost set to drift back into the land of nothingness, he was called back by Evan's soft, pre-pubescant sounding voice. "Kristin told me she ran into you this morning." Jonathan yawned yet again. "Yeah, Severo pulled himself loose and she ran after him."

"She said that you were a nice guy. A bit weary at first, but nice nonetheless.." Evan said, tapping Jonathan on the nose. "So, have you finally gotten past the grudge you were holding towards her?" The North Carolinian wedged free out of the Asian's touch, his brows slightly frowned. "I misjudged her, maybe.." Evan grinned, in such an adorable fashion, Jonathan wanted to pinch his cheeks. "Or was it because she told you what I have been trying to tell you for the past couple of months?" Feeling a little irritated, Jonathan pulled the blanket up to his nose. "What're you talking about?"

"That we're not dating. That we're not together and you have no reason to be jealous." Still grinning that suger sweet grin, Evan tapped the tip of Jonathan's nose again, only to have the man rapidly swat his hand away. So he grabbed a hold of the limb. "Dee, why couldn't you just have taken my word for it? Why did you need to hear it from her, in order for you to accept it as the truth?" The 31-year old turned around, trapping the blanket between his inner ties, so that he could see Evan's face, and look into his gentle eyes. "She's a blonde with a rocking body. What did you honestly expect me to think? Any guy would hit that.."

Jonathan's eyes shifted to his hand when Evan squeezed into it, his eyes never letting go of Jonathan's. "Twice, and that's it. And that's where it'll stay at."

"Yeah, yeah.." The man mumbled. He pulled his hand out of Evan's hold, and closed his eyes again. "So, I'm your little baby, huh?"

Evan's eyes narrowed, his brows knitted together in utter confusion.

"She told me that you talk about me a lot. And that you had mentioned, that I was like a little baby that you had to look after and such.. And.. " He paused for a moment, then swallowed and continued. Even if it were just to break the silence that had fallen between them. "That you liked to do it." The Asian-Canadian man's expression softened, and his lips curved into a small smile. "Oh." He chuckled inaudibly, despite his shoulders moving. "Well, yeah. That's because you kinda are, Dee. You are like a small child that needs guidance every now and then."

Jonathan yawned a final time, before he felt his mind slowly being taken over by sleep. "I don't mind having you as my shadow, Ev."

Evan smiled and ran his thumb softly over Jonathan's cheek. "I'm never too far away, Dee."
