I dreamt in sepia last nightand woke to a pale yellow morning with
murky coffee and oatmeal enveloped
bananas mixed
in
my mind today is both
darkgraypunkrockchick
and powder blue
american wife so I
stay naked in bed pouring
green tea down behind my
pinkish gray lungs
and I marvel
at the intensity of the
envy I felt
that far from golden
day when IΒ first considered
the perfect simplicity of your
black and
white
world

Sorry to say I never actually read anything by him. According to wikipedia though, he was at one point the most read american poet after Robert Frost (which means I take it as a compliment)
Any suggestions as to where I should start if I want to reaf something by him?

I can't name books, but I like his poems "anyone lived in a pretty how town" (absolutely beautiful rhythms and word usage; very pretty and evocative) and "Do not read this book" (short, but amusing!).

It has a nice build and I like the bluesy feel and the shifting yet rhythmic beat. No need to scrap.
