Sorry to say I never actually read anything by him. According to wikipedia though, he was at one point the most read american poet after Robert Frost (which means I take it as a compliment)
Any suggestions as to where I should start if I want to reaf something by him?

I can't name books, but I like his poems "anyone lived in a pretty how town" (absolutely beautiful rhythms and word usage; very pretty and evocative) and "Do not read this book" (short, but amusing!).
