Description
I loved my first fishbowl head so much I ended up drawing another one. Not only were these doodles an excuse for me to mess around with layering copics and playing with anatomy, but it gave me an outlet for how I was feeling at that time. I rarely like a full body piece I've done, so I tend to avoid them, but when it came to my fishbowl heads I decided it was fine if I messed up because they weren't necessarily human, so anatomy didn't matter. For the digital version of this piece I changed up the anatomy a tiny bit so she didn't have a giraffe neck (something I always seem to do) and fiddled with the colors. I made her fishbowl water to be a bit dingier and aimed for a mossy green undertone on everything. I also played around with some overlay effects in SAI and gave the piece some cool shade variations
This second piece is very different from all the rest- I avoided drawing facial features in most of them and this is the only one with an actual fish. At this time I ended up -miraculously- meeting somebody who understood what I was feeling and going through. It felt like I finally had someone who wouldn't think I was weird for feeling so spacey and disconnected from the world, like a little goldfish had dropped into the fishbowl around my head. Of course I affectionately named any layers to do with the fish in SAI 'fishy layer 1,2,3, etc' XD
