Description
“Show me.”, Edge insisted while blocking the way out of the bathroom with his own quite intimidating form.
Carrot rolled his eye lights, exasperated.
“I told you, it’s nothing to-…”, he started but then yelped in surprise.
The scarred skeleton managed to grab his wrist while he was gesticulating a very firm ‘nope’ and pulled him closer. He wrapped his other hand around Carrot’s humerus and gently thumbed the deep scar etched in the bone.
“You’re so stubborn…”, the other muttered. “It’s not a big deal, I have other scars too.”
Edge lifted his eye lights at his face. “… but this one is the deepest.”, he said in a hushed whisper that conveyed regret and unspoken apology.
I felt like drawing some more spicyhoney!
My mind keeps working on a story for them, despite having like 3 ongoing fanfictions already to work on and a shitton of other things to focus on. But noooooo, we have to spicyhoney up, too!
(I also blame and thank MessedUpEssy because she’s always eager to listen to my rants about the story and read the dialogues I suddenly paste in all their unbeta-ed glory)

Nah, not ex-abusive. The idea behind the story is that Edge met Carrot a while before and a one-sided attack happened. A few months later Edge got hurt to the point of losing his memories and Carrot took care of him (because my tall tired bean is a good healer). The longer they spent time together the more they grew fond of each other but whatever Edge felt now didn't erase what he did in the past. It is just one scar but... the only one he caused and the only one done with malicious intent toward Carrot - somebody he cares about very much now. So it's a big deal for him.
Now you got me worried the whole drawing's scenario without the context might seem like Edge was abusive toward Carrot and that's NOT THE CASE. I would never interpret spicyhoney as abusive, they're my sweetest honey and purest balm for my heart, and even if some angst and sads happen, they will be there for each other in the most healthy way possible.

It's one of the fics I plan to write in the future. I've been working on it a little but I have a big longfic to focus on first so I don't know how soon anything will be written. I do have a lot of support from wonderful people surrounding this idea so there should probably maybe be something written... soonish? XD I'll post it here if I do write something, promise.

I know right? Carrot makes no big deal out of it but it's hard to look at your special somebody and see that the bigger scar is your doing. Love the angst in this idea, love how the perspective on some things can switch so much when the feelings shift.

Well, I do have one favorite writer who has a series of magnificent spicyhoney content where they're together on the surface in Undertale Post-Pacifist world and there's like 60% of domestic fluff with a hint of angst and conflict here and there. But the relationship they have is so pure I'm going to heaven every time I read it.
