You swallowed the thick lump in your throat as you stood frozen in the bedroom doorway. You had entered China's home, by his invitation of course, but he was nowhere to be found.

You were not willing to miss an opportunity to get the drop on China...or waste a chance at making all those "old man" jokes when you gave him a near heart attack.

Naturally, you started your sneak-search with the bedroom. Instantly, you knew he was in there. If the slightly flickering light wasn't an indicator, then the old nation's subtle humming of his Hatafutte Parade melody was a dead giveaway.

In retrospect you probably should have had a little peek inside the room before barging in with a fierce roar. You had frozen in shock, but not from the major eye-candy handed to you on a silver platter of China-almost-naked-if-not-for-the-boxers.

No, as you stared down the Empire...you could only notice the array of white and pink scars that laced his body like a morbid tattoo or even a spider's web.

"Y-Yao...I-I'm so sorry, I shouldn't have just barged in...I-." You sputtered in horror, ducking your head in shame.

The sound of footsteps grew close to you immediately, and you sagged with relief as Yao wrapped his arms around you in a silent hug.

"No, no, shhh...It's okay. I should have told you about these already." Yao sighed as he pulled back to look at you. You could see that he wasn't mad at you, much to your relief, but instead appeared more resigned.

You hesitated for a second before tracing one of the scars on his arm. "There are so many...is that why you always wear long sleeves?" You asked, looking up at him.

Yao sighed but nodded all the same, "Yes, I've earned so many battle scars over the years." He mumbled, studying your face as you surveyed each one. "By now they're just old memories and sometimes painful reminders."

For a moment you two just stood in an embrace, the saddening moment weighing heavy on the both of you until a sudden lump fell against both of your legs.

You looked down and giggled as Yao's panda hugged one leg from each of you, blinking up at you with his adorable face.

"C'mere you wittle cutie." You cooed and swooped down to pick him up and hold him in between you and Yao.

Yao petted the Panda's head while you held him...and covertly tried to get a better look at Yao in the semi-nude. Those scarred biceps and abs were downright deliciously sexy.

"(Name)." Yao called out to you and you quickly averted your gaze.

"Yes?" You replied as innocently as you could, making you sound even more suspicious.

China leaned down so his lips were next to your ears and whispered, "If you don't stop staring at me like that we're going to have to put Panda outside."

Yao chuckled huskily as you blushed, the deep laughter only deepening the red on your cheeks.
