Norway hadn't muttered any protests when you practically invaded his home. You merely walked through the front door, announced your presence, and removed your outside-wear before plopping down on the couch beside him and playing with his hair.

Though you were careful of that odd little gravity-defying curl.

Norway hadn't thought much of it. You did this rather often. But you always made up for the unannounced arrivals at a later date with home-cooked meals and movie nights. He was rather curious now however, despite your calm ministrations with his pale locks, you had tear stained tracks on your face, red eyes, puffy cheeks, and a glint of homicide in your eyes if he wasn't mistaken.

"You look disgusting." Norway spoke up softly. "At least wipe your face before going out in public."

He heard you scoff in bitter irritation, "Wow, what a charmer you've become Norge." You growled, "Cause' y'know that's exactly what all girls want to hear after a nasty breakup."

Norway looked you over once more, taking note of each bruise on your neck, shoulders, and wrists that he had previously missed.

With a sigh, the placid country closed his novel and sighed.

"What happened?"

"Bryan...is a fucktard."

"...alright, but the obvious details aside." Norge urged.

You grumbled, "He was cheating on me with my sister of all people! That stupid whore..." Norway raised a brow in slight surprise. "...why can't she seduce someone with an STD and just die already?!"

"That was inappropriate."

"Hmph, says the guy that whispers in his younger brother's ear in a way that makes you wonder if he's into incest." You retorted sharply.

Norway sent you a warning look which you merely rolled your eyes at. Despite popular belief, Norway did have a rather large reserve of patience. It was just that each person he interacted with was allotted a different amount.

Denmark had about forty-five seconds of his patience...give or take.

Whereas someone like Sweden had a solid three to four hours.

You were fairly certain you had racked up almost an hour and a half, something you were rather proud of. You sighed and dropped your hands away from his head, rolling to tuck yourself into the corner of the couch.

It was silent for a few minutes before you decided to break it.

"Hey Norge...?"

"What?"

"Do you think I'm pretty?"

"...Ikke."

"Oh."

"..."

"What about funny?"

"Not really."

"...s-smart...maybe?"

"You could be. Probably not."

You trembled a bit, clenching your hands, "Norge."

"What?" He sighed, slightly exasperated.

"Do you like me."

"...No."

You were fighting back tears now, heart clenched painfully. You stood up and silently walked away from the snowy-haired nation, making your way to your coat, boots, gloves, scarf, and earmuffs. As you pulled everything on you felt the tears begin to drench your face.

"(Name). A snowstorm is about to-."

*BAM*

Norge flinched a bit as his front door slammed shut so hard it rattled the windows.

He sighed and stood up, calmly padding upstairs and retrieving his coat. He put his arms in the sleeves as he made his way to the front door, locking it behind him as he left.

Following your footprints was easy enough and the fairies were more than happy to point him in the right direction. But Norge was walking after your rather slowly whereas you were speeding through the park, trying your damnedest to take the shortest route home.

Norway furrowed his brows as one of his mythical friends came flying back in a panic, yelling something about thin ice, you, and a park. Now slightly alarmed, the Norwegian nation ran in the direction his fairies had gone.

You were walking over a more solid tract of ground, hidden under a foot and a half of snow. You sniffed as fresh tears froze to your face, making it hard to keep your eyes open. You shivered and pulled your scarf tighter around your neck.

"Why...?" You growled softly and stomped through the drift of snow. "Why let me into his life if he didn't like me in the first place?!"

You froze as your foot slammed it's way through the snow, followed by a crackle that made your stomach drop. You trembled and ever so slowly, bent down and scooped away the snow, brushing it aside.

What you found made you freeze all the way to the marrow of your bones.

Ice. A dangerously cracked sheet of ice. You were on a pond . You shivered and slowly tried to step out of the hole and back onto the snowdrifts.

"(NAME)!"

You jolted in shock as the previously silent park echoed loudly with your name. Everything seemed to slow as you slipped backwards and began to fall. You could make out so many things. Someone yelled your name as the snow shimmered under the clearing afternoon skies and the ice beneath you shattered like glass upon impact.

Plunged into the murky waters, darkened by the snow above, you felt all warmth you'd previously had seep into the shadows. The chill of the water was like a constant brick wall, hitting you at all angles inside and out.

You tried to swim up but the clothing was taking on water and becoming heavier as the seconds ticked by. The near instant temperature change was already seizing up your arms and legs and you began to panic as they slowly stopped moving.

'So this is why it's so much more dangerous...' you thought bitterly, 'I can't move...'

You jolted slightly as there was a sudden pressure on your arms, one that yanked you upwards towards the surface.

As your face broke through the water you gasped, lung heaving. The cold was worse now as your scarf had come loose in the water.

You could just barely make out the mantra of words coming from the person above you. Your vision and hearing were groggy and swam terribly.

The shouts got louder as your eyes refused to remain open, black dots clouding your vision.

'Just let me sleep...'

You blinked rapidly as light and color filtered into your vision. You squinted and turned your head, noting the open shades of the window beside you.

"I'm...alive...?" You croaked bemusedly.

"Of course you are."

You flinched as a strict voice cut the otherwise silent room. Turning to look the other way, you found Norge somewhat glaring at you. He looked concerned if not angry.

"You almost died." He hissed, "And for what?"

"I didn't realize I was on the ice." You spat back with a tone as icy as the weather outside.

Norge glowered in agitation and looked away to glare at the far wall.

"You're not pretty."

"Wow...really-."

"You're absolutely stunning."

"W-wha-."

"You're more than funny. I've seen Berwald laugh at your antics. A trophy-worthy endeavor in its own right."

"N-Norge-."

"Smart doesn't even begin to cover it. You are bright, gifted even and I admire it."

"..."

Norway turned to stare at you for a long moment.

"I don't like you (Name)." He said quietly, "I love you."

You blushed and looked away, taking a sudden interest in your hands.

"Damnit Norge...sappier than Canada's syrup, I swear it." You chuckled dryly.

Norway shot you a glare before lunging at you and began to poke at your sides with an expressionless face.

"N-Norge! S-stop it!"

"Take it back."

"Hehe, never!"

Norge smiled a tiny bit before pinning you down and resting his forehead next to yours, "Then I have to keep you here until you do."

"Hmm, we might be here awhile." You replied cheekily.

Norway just smiled and pressed a kiss to your cheek.
