close to home,sidewalk stretching in front of me like an
infinite beach
littered with human trash
and dilapidated buildings;
the sun is bright
and warm against my soul, but it can’t hide the
way that they stare,
lifeless and empty, just
trying to navigate the streets
like it’s some
stupid level on some stupid game, with
old graphics and
a soundtrack that makes you
squirm inside your skin, screaming stars
