This one actually isn't a new piece. It's from a few years ago, but I still think it's one of the best drawings I've ever done.

The subject here is a custom unit I designed for the game Battletech, a medium mech I called the Red Roc. Though it's far from perfect, it's a design I'm very proud of. I'm a little sad that it's first appearance is it being destroyed, but I'm glad it's out there now.

The reason I drew this originally was because it described how I felt at the time. Surprised by a sudden turn of events, I felt helpless to defend against the bombardment I was receiving. I felt like my world had suddenly been detonated. I made it through it, but it was a painful experience.

I'm going through a similar experience right now, and it brought this image of the Red Roc to mind. Blindsided by a person's choice that I do not understand, I again feel like my whole world has exploded around me. All because I was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

It remains to be seen if I'll make it through this emotionally. But if I did it once, perhaps I can do it again, and I can be salvaged and made to work once again.
