How do you get that purplish tint? Β It is something that I don't understand, is it a layer? Β What layer blending type?

I color in the lines with dark red, then on top of that I use a light blue color - that sets the base. Then I go on top of all of that with skin tones (orange/yellow/blue/green etc)Β
It's basically the way you would work with real paints, if you're painting in layers with acrylics or oils. The old masters did this too, but they would start with burnt sienna (deep orange) and work on top.Β

Which lines do you mean though? Β The outlines or within the boundaries of the lines? Β And I still don't understand how you see the colours underneath, are you using layers with different blend types? Β The reason I ask is that unless you set opacity down on a "normal" layer you will not see through it.Β
