I know I have been hard on Norman in that CGI Reboot, but I want to make one thing clear, I hate his CGI counterpart but I like Norman in the original series. And if there’s ever a Fireman Sam episode that shows a great example of how well-written Norman was as a well-meaning trickster in the original series, then it would defiantly be Trevor’s Bus Boot Sale. When Trevor got stuck at a rubbish dump and he was suffering from toxic fumes, Norman did the right thing by calling the fire service for Trevor’s aid as well as using his knowledge of chemicals in order save Trevor as the crew sorted out the drum prevent any chemicals spreading out from the drum, which was really good on Norman’s behalf. This is the Norman Price that people should look back on; a cheeky yet naughty kid who played harmless tricks on everyone while caring about their safety, showing the error of his ways and actually regretting what he did by the end of the episodes he messes up. And I would defiantly bring this Norman back if I was in charge of the franchise.
