Boredom made me think, what do young lombaxes look like? So I came up with two main ideas, and they are

1: Their fur is lighter and Fluffier than their adult selves.

and 2 They don't have stripes until they reach a certain age and their baby fur sheds out and his replaced by adult fur, like say 10 or so. Cause Ratchet had stripes from the beginning of the series, where he was about 12-15 years old acording to different sources, I like to think of him as 14 in the first game to be honest.
