Chocolate chips are ok, but DON"T use cocoa powder!!! It makes the consistensy of the curry all blegh...(yeah... couldn't think of the right word to use to describe it's horribleness)

I've put chocolate in chili before. But whatever you do, DON'T put milk chocolate in there. Use dark chocolate.

It just added too much sweetness to the chili. The chocolate flavor itself wasn't too strong, very subtle, but you could taste the sweetness. It clashed horribly with the chili seasonings. I didn't even add that much chocolate and I could taste the sugar. When I used dark chocolate, the flavor was much smoother without the overwhelming sweetness.
