Yup, we must not put all the blame from WWI to Germany. That huge mess was caused by tensions through the entire Europe.

I know what you mean about him no showing her war history. I don't see how it would have been too hard, because, let's face it, Hetalia crosses the boundaries ALOT.
I would have really liked to have seen their history together though....
Oh, and this made me laugh alot. I read that Belgium was known for its resilience in holding off Germany in WWI, so I thought that this fit perfectly.

Yes, I am Belgian and I live in Bruxelles. I think it is one of the best cities in the world! XD And I also think Hiramuya should use Belgium much more, since she's a friend of almost all the nations of Western Europe and she's the host of UE's meetings.

¡Yeeees! - feels understood - I read that Belgium has over 300 embassies worldwide and has diplomatic relations with everyone. It is a country with which you can play a lot. I want to see more in the series. Emma - I call her that - is beuatiful and smart.
As Belgian What is your opinion about that Flanders wants to be independent?

Since "Emma" is the most given name to newborn girls in these lasts 10 years in Belgium, I think it should be her name.
About the Flanders, it is far much more complicated. There are historical facts, economic interests and the worse: political interests. And you know what happens when politicians use history for their own purposes. In the Flanders ("Flandre" in french, "Vlaanderen" in dutch), they are some political mens that use the glorious past of the area (when it was one of the most important centers of trade in Europe) to praise the voters. Theses people pretend that Flanders could become once again the wonderfully rich area it was in the 16th century if they get rid of the useless and french-talking Wallonia. That's definitively not true and most people in Vlaanderen know it. But since Belgium has many different polical parties, splitted between socialists, centrists, liberalists, and between french-talking and dutch-talking, even if only 38% of flemish voters vote for "that party", the others voters are so devided that "that party" is still the first of Flanders. So... The most flemish doesn't want independance, but their opinions are so devided that foreigners only heat the voice of the party that has the loudest voice.
But the funny fact about politics in Belgium is that it not always the strongest party that rules. The others parties becomes allied in order to have the majority of votes. Do you want to know how many parties are represented in our actual long-waited governement? That's here our national device take all his meaning: "union makes strength". Germany learned it the hard way during WWI. XD

This seems to Spain, there is strong rivalry between languages and politicians. Politicians are always bad - xD - Catalonia and the Basque Country are the regions that most problems occur. Catalan politicians as in Flandes, using the past to win voters.
How have relations today with Germany? I love Gerbel and I would like to know more. Are Dutch still say that Belgium is theirs?

I heard you had the same kind of problem in Spain. My brother studies Barcelone and he just heard about a weird election.
About the relationship with Netherlands: no problem at all. It is just that in Vlaanderen (Flanders), the flemish like to say they speak "vlaams"(flemish) and not dutch. About Germany, my grand-mother explained me that all the children born during and after WWI were educated to hate the nasty german invaders. But I know that after WWII, most of the parents didn't want they children to inherit that anger. And know, in my generation, we don't have any kind of grudge anymore (but we still consider the 11/11 as the main war commemoration. We have forgiven but not forgotten).

Actually, what happens in Spain is more silly than anything else. Realmente, lo que pasa en España es más tontería que otra cosa. Yes, a few hours ago Catalans voted to choose their representatives in the Catalan parliament. There is a man named Artur Mas, who only spoke of the Catalan indenpendecia not the crisis, unemployment, or other things that I think are most important.
I understand it is good to forgive, that way countries can move forward, but forgetting is something different. I do not hate the French because Napoleon invaded us, happened a century ago - XD - "The <> (French) are stupid you dirty"

I think you solved this quite well. It's indeed harder to portray serious things in a manga/anima that was supposed to be humoristic.
But Himaruya, the character, could easily portray it like you did here. There's nothing violent about this piece, even though the historic reality was a whole different story. Nice job!
