Description
We started out so great;“Best friends forever” that\'s what we said,
“you and I always” it was fate.
The innocence of children, so pathetic.
Maybe it\'s all my fault; maybe it\'s all you?
But I think it just happened.
Like the others we grew apart too.
Perhaps this was our fate, our destiny.
How did we get to this spot?
You withdrew, not wanting to be here;
I have problems and wont say what.
You wont tell, neither will I; maybe this is why.
We were only little children when,
These words \'forever\' and \'always\' were uttered.
We didn\'t know what they were then,
Now I\'m older, wiser and I know what they mean.
\'Forever\', \'Always\' they aren\'t real;
All we have is memories, no hope.
I want these scars, this pain to heal,
And to be pathetic, ignorant and innocent again.

i like the closing of the poem. thats neat writing, but the rest flows pretty bad sorry. i like the concept too, i think indeed everyone goes throught that period in live...

"forever", and "always" exist only in the minds of those who believe they can exist. perhaps there is more to be learnt from "pathetic, ignorant, innocent children", for example, how to NOT let go of the best friend you ever had. perhaps the person this was written about has a lot of growing up to do, and even more learning. they deserve to feel VERY bad about themselves, and apologise for their immaturity and the pain they caused. no matter what, i love you. don't forget that. ever.
