Nope.. they are in the garden belonging to a couple that I
pet/house sit for. I was there all last week and the one evening
it wasn't raining I got a chance to get a few shots. She has some lovely gardens

Those are Lupins. On the east coast of Canada,
I'm not sure about the States, they grow wild and profusely.
Here, in Ontario,they grow well, but mostly in gardens.
I would have thought your climate would have been great for them.
They're one of my favorites. It's beautiful to see a whole garden
with all the different colours.
