so the thing is, sam and maggie haven't actually MET yet. so I like to imagine it. And here is sam explaining his feelings on life to Linus, the dinosaur.
Maggie is all like "THIS is the kid I share a story with? I do not approve"
contrary to Sam constantly being in the titles of Starry Knights drawings I make, Maggie is actually in the comic just as often. Sam is just so much more fun to make fun of.

ah, Oh Sam... I love him. And Linus is just... not on the up-and-up with the unicorns.
Hm. I just realized that Linus has probably lived his entire life in Dinosaur Country, and has therefore never seen a unicorn. And Maggie's description to him was probably something like "Well they're like horse-thingies with spokes in they heads." Sam's explanation probably does not help Linus's confusion very much.
Yay and stuff. I love Sam's fingertips.

there was a segment of "this american life" where this girl realized she had believed in unicorns untill like, college. just cus, i mean, it's just a horse with a horn.
except, she totally didnt mean like "horses with horns that talk nonsense and have sparkly eyes and have rainbow poop and are my bestest friends etc etc"
