Hi everybody! How have you all been? I’ve been pretty great myself. I’m aware that a new TD season is in the works so I’m nervous and excited about how that’s going to go. Plus, thanks to , I have now found a couples reaction meme based on the first season cast and I decided to try it out. My feelings towards the couples are a balance between love and hate. Green means I support them, red means I dislike/hate them, and yellow means I’m neutral towards them. So feel free to read with caution.

Gwen x Trent-I will ship them forever. When I first started Total Drama, I really got hooked on Gwen and Trent’s romantic subplot. They were both wonderful people who I l hoped would stay in the game for as long as possible and I just wanted them to be happy. I love that they took the time to get to know each other based on their interests and just hanging out together peacefully. They both have this tranquil vibe when they’re around each other and have witty dialogue whenever they talk with each other. Of course I was saddened when they broke up so easily in TDA, particularly because it was a network decision to show how teen love doesn’t last that long. But I was put at ease when I saw that they were still on good terms with each other in one of the TDWT aftermath episodes. Just seeing them still be friends after everything that happened to them was wonderful to see. I really enjoy their relationship and I would love it if they got back together. But considering all the relationship drama Gwen underwent these past seasons, it would be best if they just stayed friends. But I’ll always have fan content.

Duncan x Courtney-They’re one of the worst pairings to exist. I will admit there was a time where I loved their relationship since it was the classic good girl x bad boy type, but as of now, I see it for how problematic it really is. Both characters ended up bringing the worst in each other as they continued to interact. Duncan was rude and disrespectful to Courtney in Island and kept pushing her to let loose. Which while it was a good thing that she became more open emotionally, he also let her become more reckless, hostile and bad tempered towards him and the other contestants. Courtney proved to be bad as well by physically abusing Duncan whenever he ticked her off in any way. And there was the whole list she made in TDWT where she wanted to change nearly everything about him which is terrible to think that she would want to change the guy she supposedly fell in love with. Neither one is willing to accept that they messed up and they just continue with their hostile behaviors. I just can’t imagine any type of scenario where they both recognize their problematic behavior and become better people to each other.

Lindsay x Tyler-This ship is very pure and adorable. While I’m not a die-hard fan for them like Gwent, I will openly admit that they’re one of the cutest couples in the series. They both aren’t that great at things and are often mocked for it (Tyler’s clutziness, Lindsay being a dumb blonde) but neither of those things bother them and they love each other for who they are. I love that Lindsay was willing to stay true to Tyler (even if she was tricked by Alejandro) and I like that Tyler was against the idea of cheating on her when given the choice. They’re really cute and I know they’ll last a long time. (Also, I refuse to accept what Fresh TV said about them breaking up unless they show it on TV. They always mess up facts about the characters so why should we believe that a healthy couple like them would break up?)

Owen x Izzy-I don’t think they should be together. While they did have a cute chemistry together during Island, I think they wouldn’t last very long in a long term relationship. Izzy is a psychopath with millions of thoughts and wild ideas going through her mind which lead her to do dangerous and destructive things. And Owen, good hearted as he is, has the judgement and common sense of a 7 year old and would no doubt go along with whatever craziness Izzy has in planned just because. That wouldn’t make for a healthy relationship so they’re better off broken up.

Bridgette x Geoff- Another cute ship I support. These two work really great for each other; probably because they were made for each other for their chill personalities and similar designs. I also like the way they’re like the Team Mom and Dad of the contestants and how they always look out for their friends and offer support when needed. Although I admit the excessive kissing in TDA was terrible I am glad that they got over it and became individual characters again. It was also great that when they face a problem in their relationship (Bridgette being manipulated by Alejandro) they both did their best to work out their issues and they managed to solve them and grow closer than ever. That’s really beautiful in a relationship and I hope they stay happy together.

Leshawna x Harold-I’m sorry everyone but I do not like them together. From the moment I first saw the two of them lock lips in Harold’s elimination, I honestly was shocked and disgusted. I just cannot see why Leshawna, a radiant and lively girl, would fall for an obnoxious dweeb like Harold. I was really relieved when she broke it off early on but I still didn’t like how Harold kept going after her in the later seasons. Like dude, she said no. Please take a hint and back off. With Harold, he’s just so weird with how he shows his appreciation: comparing her to a snail, constantly saying he loves her at different times. (Though I will admit the song Baby was an exception). But it’s still not enough. And then there’s Harold himself with how he’s so into these nerdy things and info that really has no place in a given conversation. I really do believe Leshawna deserves a man more mature, cool and overall better compared to him.

Alejandro x Heather-This is one of the best developed ships on the show. The chemistry between Heather and Alejandro was really fun to watch as they did their best to outwit each other and win challenges throughout the game. They pushed themselves to do better and fight for what they believed they deserve. The best. In fact, I consider them hooking up and openly showing their love for each other during the All Stars finale was literally the only good part about that episode and the whole season in general. Plus they’re attractive, physically skilled and intelligent people who strive for greatness. They would be powerful working together and it would be so great if they came back in a future season as an antagonist duo!

Cody x Sierra-Yeah I really do not like them together. What I dislike about them is how they interacted and what type of people they are. For starters, Sierra is a stalker/looney fangirl who constantly breaks Cody’s personal boundaries to satisfy her own sick pleasures and Cody constantly expresses how much he hates it. Even if they’re ‘friends’ now, the thought of them together is still gross. As for the characters themselves, it just wouldn’t work out. Cody is a shameless pervert with no interest in Sierra at all. And I honestly feel terrible for Sierra since she’s an example of wasted potential. She could have had a great personality based on her fangirl archetype but it sucks that her whole character revolves solely around a pervert like Cody. It’s really messed up.

Duncan x Gwen-They could have been great. I can see why these two would make for a great couple. They have similar tastes in aesthetics, they’re cynical and sarcastic to the world around them, and they really feel comfortable around each other. It could have worked out had the relationship drama not happened. I didn’t like that Duncan decided to go after Gwen when he was having relationship trouble with Courtney which kickstarted the drama. It was also terrible to see Gwen get all of the hate while Duncan got off easy and was actually praised for getting to kiss Gwen and Courtney. That was just messed up. And it sucked during All Stars with how Duncan really didn’t care so much about Gwen’s predicament and was worried about getting attention for himself. So now I consider this ship to be unbearable to watch. I’m glad they broke up but I really hope they don’t get back together.

Courtney x Scott-I honestly cannot believe that this was a ship that happened. For starters, what I hate about them was that they started to develop right after Courtney got over Duncan. I was so happy to see Courtney finally tell Duncan off and I was hoping that she could finally get some screentime that didn’t involve her having to suffer because of relationship drama. But what does she get instead? Another relationship! It’s asinine that she needs to get through another relationship for no apparent reason. And what I hate about it is that it’s with Scott of all people. With all due respect to Scott fans, but he literally the poor man’s Duncan. A second rate bad boy who could care less about what people think of him. Courtney had standards for herself so why would she ever consider falling for a guy who eats dirt. It’s a terrible ship for Courtney and she can do so much better.

Polysurfers-It’s a creative ship that could definitely work out. It’s pretty much like Gidgette only you add Brody in and there will be more love involved. Geoff and Brody already love and support each other no matter what they do so it would be cute if that turned into a more romantic love. And while Bridgette would find this idea odd, she’d be okay with having another boyfriend when she sees how lovable and dorky Brody can be. It’s a healthy polyamourous relationship can have fun together and living their youth to the fullest.
