Description
This year was a roller-coaster of super detailed art and no time to even draw anything outside of work. I feel like I've worked a lot this year. Once again I understood that I'm very bad at working 8h/a day, because I get sick out of overworking really fast. I've been sick about 5-6 times this year. Lately, once every month. The heat in the summer was also very hard to bear and I remember feeling very drained because of not being able to sleep due to the light and heat in July and August..
June-July I was actually working almost non stop on one big background for a game, so I've cheated a bit, and the art for June is actually the one I drew in July... but I didn't like the only two artworks (more like sketches, really) I've had for June. This looks better as a composition, sorry. ;;;
Also this year I've worked on two big title games, one of them is coming out tomorrow, I'm very excited and scared to see the reviews. xD'''
In March I took part in NanoRenO for the first time together with Team Watercress. It was a very interesting and inspiring experience - I loved working in a smaller team, especially seeing how the writers team went about their script-writing, and listening to the music the composers have created. It was also the first time I've commissioned a piece of music, and I feel very addicted to it right now. If only it wasn't so expensive. xD'
I went to a few conventions, I especially remember the Polymanga and MFKiG in Lodz. Both were super fun. MFKiG surprised me with the fact that there were some Polish people that actually had the money to buy comics. This is something I always thought was not possible, so it was a nice change. Still, it's only on the smaller scale compared to the people abroad.
I feel like I drew a lot of fanarts this year. There are still many many more that I want to draw (of my fav comics, etc), like Calciphona, or to finish (my unOrdinary fanart I've started in September).
I've also bought myself a new monitor/tablet from Wacom. I hope it will make working much easier and drawing big detailed art much more enjoyable than before. So far I think it works, but my eyes still hurt if I stare at it for too long, so I want to work on my "making a break every hour" habit even more from now on.
My hand started hurting during the summer due to overworking it and trying to finish all the work really fast, but thankfully this is gone now. In September I've focused mostly on recovering from the summer (and being sick, to tell the truth xD). I had a short episode of depression around the end of the summer. This was completely gone by the middle of the autumn and now I'm super good.
Thank you for your support this year and here's to a good year 2019~!
