one of my favourite weapons.
grip is too edgy, especially in the lower part. but nice thing.

I think the mags are too fat forward to back. They almost look like an AK mag that's mixed with an AR (NATO STANAG) mag.
Which also means your magwell is too big.

9mm is a very small round, actually all auto pistol rounds are. MP5 mags almost look like they have a square cross section (it's not quite). They are essentially a really long (and curved) Glock 17 mag.

One thing I do when modeling/designing firearms was go online and look up the dimensions of the round I meant to use, model that accurately, then build the gun and magazines around the cartridge.

Other than that looks really good.

That magazine thickness almost sliped my eye, but you are right.

It however does pain me to think MP5 and G17 mags are similar, considering i don't like glocks, but i guess glock magazines are fine.

I'm not a Glock fan either.
As I said the round is the essential piece. Gun is built as a cartridge launcher, the energy to operate the tool and what is doing all the work is that cartridge. The launcher (firearm) is for ergonomics and maximizing the efficiency of the round. There are lots of 9mms that don't use glock magazines. The Uzi for example.

Well, MOST 9mm firearms don't use glock magazines.

Glocks do, Kriss do, and some aftermarket modification kits do, but most companies make their own.

And i'm not fond of Uzis either.

o: thx for the deep crits, yeah I didn't use dimension to make these guns, I just used photos from the internet and guessed everything >_<

As I said overall it looks pretty good.

MP5s in 9mm look pretty strange because their mags seem so tiny in relation to the size of the weapon. Most games don't get them right either, so don't feel bad about that. I've just had the opportunity to handle real ones. Your mag there looks a lot like a MP5 like weapon that HK made that shot .223 rounds like an AR15/M16 instead of 9mm. Though there is no SD model of that.

nice model. are the indentations of the foregrip thing modeled? seems to me as though those kind of details would come across just fine in a normal map w/o destroying your polycount (although that really doesn't seem to be a problem on this.) just an idea if you do plan to implement it into a game.

it is normal mapped , though only that part of the mp5 is mapped XD

Have you modelled it so that the rails of the sliding stock run along that indent on the side of the gun? In real life when the sliding stock is pushed in you see said rails move up that indent. Its very low poly and only puts stress on the coders / animators as opposed to you and looks very nice when its done right in a game.

yeah they can be pushed in, tho I'm unsure about the mechanism in real life

Hopefully? Nahhh man. I'm SURE you'll come up with something... It's almost a fact!
One question... you make these models just for fun or you make them in order to be used in let's say a first shooter game?
