I know, I felt kind of disappointed when he said that, as I like swords and blades way more than guns, I would have loved to see Snake use a sword.

wow, i liked your "The Snake" better since it had deeper shading using the messy style from the original artworks.
this one, unfortunately, is just messy.
a little more detailing could help, and improved proportions on the lower half of the body too
