Description
The mists of sleep cleared, and after several hours, Karuck awoke with some violence.
Looking around him, he saw the ravages of the short battle between the titans, from a makeshift camp in which the specialized healers was tending to the people who had come to the tarracota palace. Most were temporary visitors like him, but few were of his immense stature, so he could easily see his surroundings.

From his position he could see the queen of the of the provinces of the grand channel, who stood with a shadowed face and not moving a muscle, accompanied by the council of elders, who as far as Karuck could see from a distance, were doing well.

The general approached the group with some difficulty, casting a huge shadow in his wake, and not just because the sun was already close to disappearing on the horizon.

The queen and the elders saw him coming, and they made room for him so he could sit down.

After the formalities, Karuck proceeded to recount the details that remained in his memory, such as the human forms that led the titans and the usurper's words.

"Very interesting information," said the queen, "your words confirm the story of many other people, those beasts are working with those humans to bring chaos". The queen kept talking,"now we know that there are human hands behind this attack. If they are only human, they can be killed," she said grimly. The rest agreed. What had happened was unprecedented, and the implications and motives of the attackers, who rode beasts that had never traveled this far into the region, were unknown. It was all very strange, but they were already preparing for the counterattack.

It was explained to Karuck that the battleships were being prepared, and the sea beasts that pulled them were ready to follow the shoreline in pursuit of the criminals. And when the messengers carrying the news by air contacted the kingdoms to the east, both groups would catch the attackers, leaving them with no chance of escape.

"But I understand that I will not go in that group" said the great general, "I have my companion, the titan of the abyss, who can travel at enormous speeds by sea."

"For that reason, you will go separately" said one of the elders "together with a foreigner, you will form an expedition team that will travel ahead of the main body of our forces. If all goes well, you may even capture them before we reach you".

"foreigner?"
Soft footsteps behind him warned him that his partner was behind. He turned to see, but had to look down, because that person was much shorter than him; a human being opposed to Karuck in almost every aspect:
While the great general was tall and muscular, the newcomer was barely the size of a normal person, and his muscles barely stood out; and while Karuck had a very dark skin tone, this boy had a much more diluted color, typical of the peoples of the northern steppes.

"So, yes, I'll accompany you" said the boy. "It was decided while you were sleeping, I'm sorry".

Fortunately for everyone, Karuck laughed out loud at the comment, and when the newcomer sat down with them, they finished deciding on the plan.

The boy, whose name was Diomedes, was not alone, evidently; he brought his own titan, inherited from his grandfather; the serpentine dream beast. This extremely long-lived creature was not very physically powerful, but it had a curious ability: it could stalk creatures from a distance using its dreams. The plan was to go out that night, the two humans and the serpent on the back of the abyss titan, and for the serpent to track its enemies using its dreams, no doubt still infused with acts committed just hours ago. That way they would locate them quickly, and using the brute strength of the nether titan and the venomous claws of the dream serpent, there was a good chance of incapacitating their targets. But they must hurry, now that night was upon the world.

That talk served the queen and the elders to determine that those two warriors would know how to work together. Some elements were delivered for them for the trip, in anticipation that the mission would be extended, and amid the hopeful farewells of the inhabitants of the city, the heroes left in silence.

"May the great turtle help you on your journey" the queen murmured.

In the middle of the sticky darkness of the sea and the starry sky, Diomedes spoke: "Doesn't it seem strange to you, Karuck, how the old people didn't seem to want to talk much?". The general turned to the boy: "You've noticed it too."
"Especially when it comes to where our enemies are running to," the boy said, "there is nowhere to run, and yet those criminals have fled on rather swift beasts."
"The elders love the princess and love what humanity has built."Karuck said "They are not traitors."
"Of course" said Diomedes. "But it seems there are things that they still can't bring themselves to tell us."

They both looked up at the stars, where the guardians of the world made their home. As long as they, the celestial sisters, were there, the humans would put peace of mind in their hearts.

The princess opened her eyes slowly, due to the brightness. Not from the sun, but from a bonfire of blue and green flames.
"Finally you wake up"; a deep voice sounded between shadows, startling her. A pair of figures remained seated among the rocks. The princess stared, trying to make out the features of those people, the people who had kidnapped her and murdered hundreds to do so.
A huge man and a small, white-haired woman were looking at her coldly. The man spoke again:

"Don't worry, it will all be over soon"
