I wonder who or what she waits for?

I enjoyed this piece so very much! I originally wanted to leave it coloured flatly in copic markers with no shading. But, once I had done that (quite a while ago I admit) it felt raw still when I picked it up last week, and so I continued to add more shading using coloured pencils (Karisma and Caran d'Ache). Note, I didn't use any reference for the shading, which is probably why I feel quite proud that it's turned out well

My scanner butchered it, and alas, my digital camera fared little better. This does not do justice to the real thing, which I am very proud of, surprisingly. I shall definitely be trying to catch a better picture of this in the future... In real life the strands of hair are smoothly flowing and the fabric draped is a slightly darker red that leans a little bit towards crimson. The eyes are a beautiful shade of teal <3

On a random note, I feel like the look in her eyes is one of looking with familiarity towards the viewer, even though I had no intention of that being the case.... Is that just me or do you agree? It would be interesting to know.

Laslt but certainly not least, credit must go to the lovely *Mahafsoun for her stock mahafsoun.deviantart.com/art/S… which I used as inspiration for the pose, jewellery and anatomy of my lineart. Oh, and the colour scheme. Such a pretty stock picture.

Anyway, i leave you with this piece. It's nice to submit again, after such a long while. I hope you enjoy.
