Out of all the snares for a fairy, few are more effective than the bubbles that come from maraglob, a substance that can envelope any flying creature and let them helplessly float wherever the wind blows them. The only way to break the bubble is with enough force of a suitably sharp object. A thumbtack is too small, a branch is too dull, but a sufficient swipe of a sword or dagger could pop the balloon. Such a task must be done with extreme caution, though, as the swipe may also land on whoever is trapped inside. Unlike many snares, the bubble can catch a fairy as they're flying through clear air. Spider webs can be detected or avoided by staying away from narrow passages or between tree limbs. Snares and glue traps can be avoided simply by not touching the ground. But anyone can simply launch a maraglob snare into the air and with good aim grab a fairy. The only challenge then is to capture the bubble before it blows away.

Maraglob is hard to come by, however, and because of its light-as-air properties, it is hard to complete the capture, so it is not a popular tool for a fairy. But it does have its place in areas where there's low wind or the fairy can still be constrained in a small place where they can't just float away to distant lands. You also have to ensure the fairy is not on the ground or too close to a wall or tree because the bubble would never form with that sort of interference.
