Description "Our own heart and not other men's opinions form our true honor." —Samuel Taylor Coleridge

Seventh and final submission for Irosami week 2012. The theme is Honor.

I won't be coloring my Irosami drawings for awhile, so if anyone is up to the task, be my guest. All I ask for is credit and notice. But I will eventually color these—I think

It would be a crime for me to go through all of Irosami week without doing one kissy picture. So here it is.

I don't think this is the strongest piece of the bunch, but I do think it has the most powerful quote. Earlier in the week I told a story about Asami's relations with her dad after she married Iroh. Today is the story of Iroh's relations with the world when he married Asami.

When I think about how I felt about Asami when her character was first introduced, there are some words that come to mind just based on her appearance alone. Words like traitor, bitch, and tart—just to name a few. Then I think of how I felt about her after the end of the first season, how her character developed, and how I came to love her enough to associate her with words like badass, strong, and beautiful. I feel like that's how the world is—they judge on first appearances alone before they know anything about the person they are judging so harshly. And I'm not just talking about the real world, I think the Avatar-verse would likely be the same.

To me, this quote shows Iroh's dedication to Asami even when the world disapproves. (Which, he's a prince marrying the heiress daughter of a super-mega bad guy equalist—in the world's defense, I think they have valid reason for their suspicions )

I can't believe this doesn't have any comments. This is a profound quote, beautiful artwork and a truthful analysis!

Replying to this kind of late lol...

But thank you very much. I remember putting a lot of thought and effort into this series overall. Not my best work as I had injured my arm, but not my worst either XD

Thanks again! Means a lot!
