Beautiful! Very nice, how the black starbody pattern is reminiscent of Islamic art, adding to the 'illustrated mythology' feel of this diptych.
It might take away some of the clean simplicity, but I think subtle color (something you've done nicely in other work) could clarify the action. Thought about trying it out?

i had thought about it, but the downside of color is that if the writer and i ever decide to print it ourselves, the cost will be obnoxiously high. i may go back with greys though.
