The product of insomnia!! Or rather, the product of a sleepless night thanks to very violent coughing spasms.... any good remedies for that?So, teeeeechnically this is a commission for *disneypunk10 , but I also wanted to do it so I could complete the picture series. Here's Welv'rath, Cristin's drow wizard. She's, very literally, our guide in her Pedes Obscurum campaign. But she's not JUST a wizard with uncanny knowledge and connections. Nope. She's much more special than that, but I'm not going to let on WHAT unless you know about the title/imagery in this picture.... hee hee hee!!
So, now the series is done! YAAAAY!!
EDIT: Okay, I've gotten enough comments that tells me that everyone assumes, no one knows their DnD lore and no one can put two and two together. So I'll just spell it out. THIS IS EILISTRAEE. Corellon Larithian's DAUGHTER. Here, [link] EDUCATE YOURSELVES. We play a game that takes from a lot of places, and one of them was Forgotten Realms so.... yeah. MEGZIE, OUT.

I've noticed that even AD&D players have no idea that Eilistraee is the child of Corellon Larethian and Araushnee (Lloth), along with her brother Vaeraun, and while Vaeraun followed his mother, Eilistraee chose to follow her father and the Seldarine. While Lloth was condemned to the Abyss as a traitorous spider demon while Vaeraun was banished to the Prime Material Plane. Eilistraee chose banishment to the Prime Material Plane to keep an eye on her volatile brother and keep him relatively in line and Corellon Larethian reluctantly agreed. She did maintain her alliance with the Seldarine, thus she was able to help some Drow (namely her followers) to gain absolution and acceptance among surface elves as well as other goodly races, and helped to prevent an absolute stranglehold on the race by her mother, now known as Lloth. It amazes me that even long time gamers who play Drow characters have no idea about any of this. O.o
Not only am I a long time gamer, the Drow is my chosen race with Sylvan Elves and Sea Elves a close second and third. My first book I bought was the Drow of the Underdark Handbook even before I bought the Players Handbook (though I was borrowing a PHB from my then-boyfriend). With my penchant for researching and being an avid reader, I actually know quite a bit about the various AD&D races. Yeah, I'm a geek. XD

XD You can find a lot of this info in the novel "Evermeet - Island of Elves" by Elaine Cunningham --> [link] I have it in hardcover and it details the feud between Corellon Larethian and Araushnee and how Araushnee became Lloth, as well as how the Ilythiiri betrayed the surface elves and were driven underground to become the Drow, and how Evermeet itself was created. Good book, you should read it.

I don't even play D&D but I knew who she was when I read the title.
I know because I have the Gods of Faerun and the Underdark d&d books for commission and research purposes, and I read both straight thru. Don't remember it all but I do drow artwork for a friend, some as commissions from her old campaign, some commission of her character interacting with the OC of others, and some as gift art. I wanted to know WTF I was getting into when taking on d&d art. Knowledge is power.

Gorgeous... though I can't see an avatar of Corellon Larethian taking a drow form, since his main commandment it to destroy followers of Lolth... in 4E, anyway, but it's your game, whatever works for you! My group likes to wield dwarven rouges at doors like they are objects when the player goes out to smoke, so to each their own!

I DO have the cough!! It's so bad... the doctors gave me cough syrup with codeine and a cough suppressant strong enough for people with emphysema and I STILL can't sleep!! I would have hoped the narcotics would have done SOMETHING buuuut NOPE. Nothing at all....
