This is very very late for the comment month from CR Artisan Crafts back in February... I don't use my sculpting profile as often as my other art profile on DA! But I'm now finally taking time to leave some comments
First off, that is a very cute shoulder bag <3 There's a nice simplicity with its design that I think a lot of people would love, it's very much the kind of bag you would wear out on a summer day when you don't want a heavy purse with you.
As for the photo, I love the purse on the wood background. I think that part works very well! It's a nice enough contrast without being extreme, and it really does lend to the summer feel. I would perhaps consider moving the purse down a bit lower from the seperate plank pieces, or perhaps instead draping the shoulder strap up further; it'll give the purse a longer shape and might even out the background a bit more (if that makes sense?). Really though, just experiment around with that idea.
I think the picture might look better without scissors in it. Not sure if that's for a size comparison or showing one of the tools you used to create the bag with? If it's the former, I would suggest using something else to compare with. If it's to show some of the tools used, then perhaps adding a couple more things and arranging them in the bottom corners of the picture would look nice? These are all just things I'm musing in my head. I'd encourage you to experiment around if you have the time, find ways of 'framing' the purse with other objects or taking pictures with just the purse on the nice wood background. <3
As a side note, if there was a way for you to create a bit less shadow, that would probably look even better! I know how hard that can be sometimes though, I have issue with that myself. I find that taking pictures outside in the shade can help even out the lighting a lot (when possible).
Hope this comment was a bit constructive at least!

Hello! Thank you for participating in February's Comment Month! I am sorry that my response is a little late. I hope you'll excuse me!Β
First things first, I think you did a good job on the bag! And it really is a cute shoulder bag. I think the little button detail really brought out the quaintness of the whole thing. The retro floral print really highlight the cuteness idea. As far as the bag itself, if it was hand-sewn, then you have a lot of skill! If it was sewn by machine, you have a steady hand. And all that can be seen from this photo. If anything, I might have considered using a slightly different coloured button in this piece to make it stand out a little bit more. But the bag looks pretty good as it stands right now. So I think you did great!
As far as the photo goes... I will try not to repeat what other commentators have said before. So here are a few extra ideas for you:
1. The pair of scissors really take a lot of attention away from the bag itself. The dark, high-contrast colour of the handle of the scissors really overpowers the nice, almost pastel shades on the bag itself. If you want to show how large the bag is, you may consider writing the dimensions down instead of showing it off in the photo. Or choose something a little more innocuous instead.Β
2. Since this is a cross-shoulder bag, the straps are, by definition, longer than the bag itself. It makes the strap long and unweildy when taking photos. One way to take the photo is to have something prop the bag up so it looks like it's standing up, then drape the strap over the bag itself (images-na.ssl-images-amazon.coβ¦ Lots of pros choose this option) or consider folding it to a more compact presentation to take up less space (so-sew-easy.com/wp-content/uplβ¦ ). This will help people to focus their attention on the bag itself and not get distracted by the bag.Β
3. Finally, you want you -really- get in on the bag itself. You've worked hard on it and you want people to see that. There's a lot of empty space that's just taken up by the floor in this image. A quick run-down through your gallery shows me that you've got lots of wonderful works, but the photos are usually taken too far away. If that's the only way to take your photo, then don't be shy to crop out the extra empty space. There really -is- something like "fix it in post"!Β
I hope you'll find these tips helpful! In the meantime, keep up the good work!

It looks very neatly done. It shows you considered the patterns on the fabric before cutting, so the roses are placed in the middle and nicely on the edges of the strap (or so it seems).Β
Regarding the picture itself, it may look better if you cut the bottom and the upper parts a little bit, so the attention is focused on the bag, not the background area.

Indeed... thinking of my own pictures, most of them never show what I was expecting. Composition and lighting are very tricky. Sometimes I wonder if a lightbox would make it easier

Yes... I was trying to find a good tutorial on how to take pictures of your crafts by ... but it seems my faves are too messed up for that. Anyway, aside from the photography group, you may want to check 's thematic weeks, every now and then there is an article with tips on taking pictures
A good snapshot really makes your crafts stand out

Hi! Thank you for requesting feedback from !
This is a very beautiful bag! The flower patterns are very elegant, and the asymmetrical elements you added to the piece (specifically, the single button and the strap that starts and ends on opposite sides of the bag) give it a very unique look.
Since you asked for feedback, I have a few suggestions for you. First, I recommend using a gentler angle to photograph the piece, so that your bag looks upright. Many advertisements for bags and purses go for the upright pose (or appearance) to give potential buyers a good picture of what the piece looks like when worn. The angle also makes the bag appear more accessible to the user, inviting them to reach out and purchase the bag.Β Let me know if youβd like me to send you some examples of this .
Furthermore, I recommend using a plain background for this bag, ex. a sheet of blue or pink pastel paper to complement the white color and floral patterns. The vertical grains in the wood can potentially distract your audience from your creation, and the two lines running across the top give the appearance of cutting through the piece.
Lastly, I suggest using a ruler or your hand for the size comparison, or alternatively including the specific measurements in your description, instead of using a pair of scissors. While the scissors help convey information about the size of your piece, some viewers may not be familiar with its relative size, and furthermore, the association with cutting through materials doesn't mesh well with the themes conveyed through your piece. Every item you add to the photo will have a noticeable effect on the presentation .
I hope this helps, and keep up the amazing work!

Aw, it's adorable! I love how the pattern lines up so the flowers are completely visible on the front. <3

It looks nice, but since scissors come in many sizes I don't have a good idea as to scale. Β How big is it?

Thank you very much, i am trying to figure out how to add a flap for the top. As in how to sew it together hehe. Need to figure it out in my head by visualising where what goes ^_^
