Description So this is going well.
Here we open on possibly the most tentacle-friendly dimension in all the known planes, and unfortunately we have one sparkle boye meeting a local man of science. Will hilarity ensue? Possibly! Will there be tentacles? Boy howdy we got you covered !! Look at those wiggly boys !

I love that this is how they got to know each other.

Man, your line weight, details, and sketch shading is amazing. I wish I could do nice line art like this!

Thank you very much! I've long been a little insecure about how gestural my lines are, so seeing feedback like this is very welcome. It's easy to feel like digital line work is always supposed to be super clean and simple.

As for learning to do it yourself, it's just in working with that in mind

What program are you using to line your art?

If you're concerned with smooth lines, I noticed Paint Tool SAI does a great job at that and for soft blending colors. I believe SAI 2 has more features available that the original didn't.

What some friends have been doing or suggesting to me is line in SAI (2). Then, convert it to Photoshop or whatever you use for coloring (just for art in general). As someone with Photoshop, I admit lining there is not nearly as smooth as SAI, but I've been lazy to buy and download SAI. Just some advice/suggestion for you.

By the way, if you want me to offer constructive criticism along these pages, let me know. Just tell me to what extent. Otherwise, I can get nitpicky with technical stuff, so if you only want critiques on certain aspects, be specific.

Things look promising already! Good job regardless of the results!

I've used SAI before but it didn't agree with me hugely? Couldn't quite place exactly why but I found myself enjoying Autodesk Sketchbook a lot more and that's what I use to line works, though I also use Medibang for building my pages. It's not the greatest system but it works. Other times I use Krita to get a completely different effect.
As for writing about the crispness of lines, I have got fairly settled in a couple things I like to do when making line art. I do like learning new things tho, spent more time in university finding out new stuff to do instead of the projects I was supposed to work on haha!

And thanks for the offer of critique, I might hit you up on that offer if I get into round 1. I'm fairly comfortable with what mistakes I've made in this audition and I know how to improve for next time so I'll work on that first.
