Description Murdok the Plains Dwarf and Elea the High Elf are adventurers, spies and sometimes thieves, working for the Guild of Adventurers. They are teaming up from many years and have a very strong friendship, some rumors even saying they share more than a friendship.
Strong friendship between Plains Dwarves and High Elves are pretty rare, because High Elves had enslaved the Plains Dwarves, until the Great War against Humans and the revolt of the slaves, helped by their cousins the Mountains Dwarves. These last ones, had not been enslaved. Considered too stubborn and strong physically, thus dangerous, to make good slaves. After their defeat, the Elves signed a treaty given their freedom to the Plains Dwarves.
It was thousands of years ago and things could have been settle down, if some Elf Kingdoms didn't continued to have slaves, dwarves and humans, actually. Officially, they aren't supposed to buy new slaves, but they pretend that they descent from slaves who decided to stay at the services of the elves. Which is of course false, the slaves are coming from illegal slaves trading.
Like said before, only few Elf Kingdoms are practicing it, but even among those who didn't have slaves anymore, very few denounces the practice.
Which is of course not the case of Elea. She grew up in one of the most cosmopolitan elven city and always had friends from other species.
Murdok grew in a small village and had almost never met a High Elf before Elea. Despite the distrust (or even hate for some) for the High Elves inherit from his ancestors, he got along with Elea right from the start.
Both have a nice, charming and confident personality.

Murdok and Elea will have a role to play in the story at some point, but not for now. I'll try to makes pictures of them from time to time, so that they are not forgotten. ^^

Thank you very much, Juliana!

This picture is not a new render, actually (maybe you remembered it). I have checked "notify your watchers" by inadvertent, while I was editing the picture. I thought I had unchecked it though...

I want to make a new picture with them. So we will see them again soon.

Thanks a lot, Tinnuien.

"Keeping a friendship despite the backstory of their species is surely not an easy task."

Living and working at the Guild of Adventurers, which is a very cosmopolitan place, their friendship is mostly very well accepted. But when they travel outside, it's sometime a lot less simple.

"How do they work together, do they have each a speciality in which they are good at?"

I think they have kind of the same skills, but they use them differently, which make them complementary.

They are both talented fighters, but I think she is better than him, with weapons and strategically, because she is older and has more experience. Although, being a dwarf, he is a lot stronger physically, than her.

Concerning the stealth, her capacity of been silent is better, she is also quicker. But him been little, he can keep unnoticed more easily.

When they gather informations, Elae is using her charm and her charisma to make people talk. Murdok is pretty charismatic and charming too, but he can also use intimidation or even brut force (even if he don't like that).

They sometime do the "good cop, bad cop" thing.

He is a better lockpicker, but she is a better pickpocket, etc...

Ah, right, I remember now, they looked somehow familiar 🤣. All right, it's OK to bring them to attention again now and then!

One thing I haven't talk about in the text, is that she is also a lot older than him, several centuries. But it haven't been in the way of their friendship either.

Thank you.

Like I said in the description they'll have a role to play in my story, but it will be much later.

But I'll do side-story pictures of them in the meanwhile.

Thanks! Their role in the story is not for right away, but introducing them right now, will help me to develop their characters more.

Ah, good to see there's more to come and those two seem a be a nice addition. Cool outfits, too.

Yes, there is more to come.

In fact the role I want them to play happens in the third story arc. Considering it took me 1 year and half to complete the first one (and it's not quite done), it won't be for right away. Ha ha

Yeah, the clothes are cool, I bought them recently. The one of Murdok is really great, because just by changing textures, you feel like you have completely different garments.

Thank you.

Like I said, they'll have a role to play but it won't be before the Arc 3 (or Season 3 if you prefer, but I think it's cooler to say "Arc" than "Season", lol.) So it's not for soon, but it will give me time to develop their characters.

I forgot to say how old they are in the description. Murdok is around 70 and Elea 400 years old.

"Oh, I read your answer to Tinnuien!"

I hope you learned some interesting things.

Oh, I would like to know, apart from their appearance, how are the races different from each other? Can they have offspring together? If yes, how are they treated?

Mekheke In reply to Tinnuien [2019-04-19 18:42:27 +0000 UTC]

Not everything is well settle in my head, but I'll try to tell you the differencies.

Moutains Dwarves like Romatzo are the strongest physically (from all races), but their agility and stealth capacities are not great. Their culture is for now basically the stereotypical dwarves one.

Plaines Dwarves like Murdok are less strong than their cousins from the mountains but agility and stealth are a lot better, they are also taller. Culturally, they are closer to humans and they are mostly living with them, since the Great War.

Both Elven races have physical capacities quite identical, but their fighting styles are differents. Their cultures couldn't been more different, High Elves like Elea live in cities and castels, like fancy clothes and they often gives the first impression to be cold and arrogant. Religiously, they worship the Sun.

Wood Elves (also called Dark Elves, but this last name can have a pejorative meaning), are living in the wild, in the heart of the forests and have a druidic culture. They like to be naked and are friendly and joyful. They are worshipping the nature spirits and their main divinity is the Moon (also called Mother Moon).

They are very different, but in fact both races consider each other like part of the same family. It is said that there was a time when they were the same and only race, the Golden Elves.

For the Humans, the Nordics are taller, stronger and have a warrior and shamanic culture based on the ancestors and the spirits of the dead.

The Western Humans are basically like the Plaines Dwarves, less strong but with a better agility and stealth capacities than the Nordic Humans. Their culture is equivalent to the middle-ages and most of them believe in a unique God (but I haven't developpe their religion yet). They are smaller than Nordics.

For the relationships between the races, High Elves, like said before, really get along with Wood Elves and have close relationships (diplomatic and commercial) with Western Humans. They dont really like Nordics and the relations with the Dwarves are not good.

Western Humans are living with the Plains Dwarves so they get along very well. Dark Elves aren't well seen, mostly in the rural areas, because of superstions and prejudice. Relations with Mountains dwarves are friendly but mostly commercial. They get along with the Nordics but there is some superiority complex from the Western Humans.

Mountains Dwarves don't like High Elves. If they don't really have diplomatic or commercial relations, they sympathize easily with Wood Elves when they met, their personality being pretty close. Idem with the Nordics.

The relations between Plains Dwarves and Wood Elves are mixed. If Wood Elves never had slaves, they fought alongside the High Elves during the Great War. For the Wood Elves it's past so it's not really important, but for the dwarves there is still some resents.

As for your question about 2 races having children together, it's something I haven't made my mind yet. Sometime it's yes, sometime it's no, lol. But if I finally decide to say "yes", I think it won't be a thing well seen in most case.

Hope I gave you the details you wanted. There would be more to say but it would take a whole book to do it. lol ^^

Super personnage et belle profondeur de champ. On va donc les retrouver de temps à autre dans ton histoire, cool

Mekheke In reply to Markkus3D [2019-04-19 16:50:51 +0000 UTC]

Merci beaucoup.

Markkus3D In reply to Mekheke [2019-04-20 12:49:43 +0000 UTC]

Je te comprends, car avec trop de personnage faudra que ton histoire se developpe façon GOT...

Bref, attention, cela risque de devenir un boulot à temps plein

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Mekheke In reply to Markkus3D [2019-04-20 13:48:35 +0000 UTC]
