I wanted to draw an unusual picture of spring and decided to depict Cernunnos, the celtic god of nature and fertility.Related works:

Sit with me, neath the Sacred Tree,
And rest beside its roots,
In soft green light, all the day and night.
Enjoy its blessed fruits,
The leaves turn brown then they tumble down,
...Β As Holly is our King,
At Yuletide's yoke, comes the King of Oak,
And rules throughout the Spring.
Yet above them all, with the hunter's call,
Stands the stag lord, mighty Herne,
Cernunnos proud, winds a horn blast loud,
And from him we shall learn,
Of the mysteries, of the beasts and trees,
And all that grows in green,
For in him we trust, as the land is just,
And the Goddess is his Queen.

death, rebirth and metamorphosis.... he is the changing of the seasons, the breath in the woods... his dance is the rhythm of life, his tune is birdsong on a summer's day.... i love cernunnos. never thought of him looking like this, but that is part of the joy of interpretation; everyone's interpretation is different, unique and special

I like this piece very much. It sets on philosophical thoughts. All living and beautiful things are eventually bonded with death in this world. Nothing is eternal.. I love the combination of such terrible things, like death and such beautiful and exquisite, like flowers.. Beautiful work!

This is the first picture n your gallery that caught my eye.. With a closer look, glad to see it is not just another skull, so to say.
I like the way you have succeeded with the tones in this one. There are not too much stuff and not exactly colors to mention so the details are clear enough for eye to catch them. Talking about details, there is plenty, leaving unaware observer like myself wondering the symbols and their meaning. Sometimes things are just what they seem, but not being certain is part of the fun when appreciating one's imagination.
